Description

3M 3903 Vinyl Duct Tape is a general-purpose sealing tape with strong rubber adhesive. This vinyl backing tape is suitable for bundling, sealing, wrapping, holding, color coding, protecting, and general maintenance applications. High tack rubber adhesive tape sticks easily on surfaces and are suitable for light duty and temporary patching of plastic bags, sheeting, tubing, and hosing. Industrial-grade tape offers clear removal after 30 minutes of application onto painted steel surfaces as hot as 200F degrees. This highly-durable adhesive tape meeting UL723 requirements can be used as an equipment labeling solution for racks, machine parts, storage boxes, and plastic materials.

*EDIT - 7/25/20* I’ve changed my mind! At first I hated this tape, but then I found myself using it... Then using it up... Then ordering another roll. ...Then ordering a 4th roll! I only hated it because it advertised itself as “duct tape” - which it is NOT. What it IS, though, is a clean, white, tear-able, semi-sticky tape, that will maintain a temporary hold without damaging the surface it’s stuck to. I have LOVED IT for temporarily labeling shoe boxes in my closet; for sticking notices to the wall; for sealing up cereal boxes or cracker boxes when you want to be able to open it up easily again. It doesn’t peel up at the corners when used to label or hang things. It’s wide, which is nice. It doesn’t damage the paint on your walls, or leave a residue on your (non-magnetic) fridge front. In short, it’s GREAT for temporary applications. Think of it as the “sticky-note version” of duct tape. It’s got a classy linen finish. It also tears off in a neat line, without the need for scissors. I’m ashamed of my previous review. I guess I just hadn’t found how this tape could best work for me. Now I have, and I will keep ordering more! Previous Review: Do you know how when you buy a tablecloth for your barbecue, and you unfold it at the park, and it turns out to be just a small square of some really cheap thin vinyl? Then the corners of the picnic table punch holes in it, and the slightest breeze tears it to shreds. Now imagine your uncle spilled a liter bottle of Pepsi all over that “tablecloth”. 3M is always the best, not the cheapest. Not a thick tape but backing material has good shear strength.. Put some on a door sweep that rubbed floor, 5weeks later tape is still intact.

    • Not typical duct tape.
This tape worked great for a school project in my classroom. But it failed to hold on a household project that other duct tapes worked fine on. It's vinyl and doesn't have the threading running through it like others do.

    • It's ok but you can buy better
You can buy there white duct tape from Lowes or home Depot that works better and last longer than this. But if your can't find any in the stores then this will get you by.

    • Lots of residue, not long-term stick
This is very close to what's known as "bundling tape". It has little indentations along the strip that make it very easy to tear without tools. Its initial stick is good, but the adhesive is gummy. Left for more than a few hours, or in any sort of heat, and you will get tremendous, sticky residue. It is not wind, heat, or water resistant. What it IS, is cheap, and it DOES stick fairly well, as long as you understand what its potential uses are. ... show more
