  • First E-Board and I Love it! Ridden 150+miles
Summary: The board is awesome! Lots of power and a smooth ride. I've ridden over 150 miles in 4 months and it's hasn't had any issues. This is my first ever E-Board and I spent a lot of time researching and looking at reviews before deciding to purchase this model. There are some decent YouTube reviews that can give you a sense of it's specifications, so I'll focus more on my experience. I live in Washington, D.C and ride on the streets every-day and it's loads of fun. It's the fastest way for me to get around town, I can just ride to the front of the grocery store and pick the board up (I was skeptical about the handle before buying, but I use it all the time and am so glad it’s there) and can walk right in. I've got the stock wheels, and they are smooth ride and have lots of grip. I can cruise down the street or carve down hills and it's a great ride either way. I do have to be careful to avoid pot-holes, but that comes with the territory. I'll probably upgrade the the larger wheels at some point, but the trade-off there is probably faster wear and still there are some big pot-holes I'll want to avoid. I'm super happy with the stock setup. These boards are super fun, but I will say same as any bicycle or skateboard there is always a chance of falling/injury. If you have never ridden a skateboard before and don't have good balance, definitely start slow and be cautious while learning. Power: I'm a 210lb rider and this board still is able to accelerate quickly when I'm riding which shocked me. Even up steep hills it accelerates and can still cruise at 20+mph. The braking is really powerful. Feel: When I first got the board out I set it to full power/speed and I was amazed at how fast it would go. I think I maxed out at 28/29mph. Having never ridden an E-Board before this was exhilarating and also terrifying. You definitely want to wear a helmet if you're going full speed. At the higher speeds (20+mph) the board felt some-what twitchy, so when I got home I tightened the trucks. After tightening the trucks, the board felt much more stable at the higher-speeds. If I remember right, they might have even provided some stiffer bottom bushings, if you really wanted to change the feel even more. The board itself is wooden and has a really nice flex to it. Battery Life: This one is very dependent on a few different things. How fast you go, how many hills there are, how fast you accelerate, and how heavy you are. Like I said I’m 210lb and also I like to ride pretty aggressively. I usually am only riding 2-3 miles at a time so I don’t generally worry about battery charge running out. I would say I’m pretty confident that I can really rip it full speed for anything under 5 miles. For anything over 5 miles, I start to be more conservative with my speed and acceleration. I’ve actually set my #2 preset to what I call my “long distance” mode, where I have the speed and acceleration turned down to try and minimize battery drain. I’ve never tried to see how far I can go on a single charge, but I’m confident I could get 10+miles if I wanted, which for above average weight is pretty good. There’s other things you can do too, like the bird/lyft/spin scooters you can manually push/kick anytime from a stop, and that will help reduce the drain that comes with the high load required to start from a stop( and other such tricks). Usually I play it safe though and will just bring my charger with me if I plan to go long distances. Durability: I’m a heavier rider and have ridden this board 150miles. The board has been an absolute tank. The only adjustment I’ve made is to tighten the trucks when I first got it. I was a bit worried about the top layer of the board peeling/scratching/tearing easily, but it’s been super strong. I’ve got one or two knicks in it, but that’s all expected wear and tear. They provided spare belts with the board, but I haven’t had to use them yet. The belts are starting to show some wear, but honestly I expected they would need to be replaced sooner. The only component that I need to replace is a small bushing that sits in the pivot cup. It was wearing out and I think it finally fell out the other day. It’s not a catastrophic failure, but it does need to be replaced. I’m monitoring the belts for wear also, and might pro-actively replace them if they get bad Controller/App: The remote is pretty slick. It has just 2 buttons and a roller know. The buttons turn it on, select mode, change direction, and change units. I had to look back at the manual a few times to remember what function each button press/hold did, but there’s not a lot to it so I picked it up pretty quickly. The knob has a really nice feel and resistance/spring. It’s a small knob to control a lot of power so obviously you need to not be flat footed and jam it to 100%, but I got a good feel for it after the first few rides. I’ve only used the app 1 or 2 times, but it was pretty good. It’s relatively intuitive and let’s you change a lot of settings for each pre-set. I’ve configured speed and accelerations of my presets as: 1. “show and tell” – Letting friends try it for the first time. Max Speed 10mph, minimum acceleration. 2. “long distance mode” – When I want to conserve battery. Max Speed 18mph, minimum acceleration. 3. “Daily Driver” – What I use most the time. Max Speed 23mph, 50%ish accelerations 4. “All Out” – Everything 100% Deceleration I keep at 100% for each of these just to be safe. There’s not science behind this, just kinda what I thought might make sense. I've wanted a E-Board for a long time and honestly I'm so happy I finally got one, it's so fun and a super easy way for me to get around town. ... show more

  • Love how quick it is
Had a similar issue as erik were the bolts holding the motor stripped causing nuts to fall off causing a horrendous noise. I ended up contacting customer service and got the bolts and nuts replaced but added Thread-locker to ensure it wouldn't happen again. Been riding for about six months and put around 125 miles on the board besides the one issue its a great board, took me around a month to comfortably ride it on speed 4 but speed 2 or 3 is plenty enough. Make sure you get used to the brakes. ... show more

  • Great budget belt-driven electric skateboard under $500
Great electric longboard that comes pretty cheap as well. I've owned this board for about 4 months now and use it almost daily. It feels stable, speedy, and easy to use. As a college student, daily driving this board around campus as well as to and from my apartment has made it one of the most fun parts of my day. In terms of specs, it goes up to 28 mph as advertised and I can get a good amount of range out of it at a higher speed setting even in the cold weather of New Hampshire. It's a dual-motor electric skateboard that is also belt-driven and hence generates a considerable amount of power. Its ESC creates a pretty smooth and comfortable ride without sacrificing power. The best part of the whole experience is the helpful customer service. When I did run into any issues or questions they have been more than helpful in coming up with different solutions. ... show more

  • Cheap board, bad quality
Worked for one ride, which was great. One the second ride, it stopped working. Since then, while the charger light is green, it still doesn’t switch on. Very disappointing. You get what you pay for I guess.

  • Good for a month
The media could not be loaded. Great for a month then had problems, the bolt holes on the back where the motor was were stripped and multiple of the nuts were missing from the bolts making one of the motors unstable and caused the belt to grind on the plastic. By the way I only used it to commute around campus, nothing crazy. Tried fixing it by getting some new nuts but only stabilized it but the motor or something kept making the horrendous noises from the video and were way worse when you rode on it. ... show more

  • Tighten all the screws and bolts 🔩 before the first ride .
I love everything about this board, it's powerful and fast .I'm 6.2 tall 210 lbs heavy and this board can climb up hills at very good speed I'm surprised.

  • Good customer service
Update: The power to the board would shut down suddenly throwing my grandson off the skateboard. We contacted WowGo and they sent us videos on how to test the battery. We determined the battery was defective and they are sending a new battery. My grandson had the board for 2 months and noticed that the retention screws were loose and one had fallen out and was gone and another was stripped so could not be tightened. We contacted the company's customer service and was pleasantly surprised that they handled our problem very quickly. They sent us new screws which took quite a while as they come from China. But the customer service was in contact by email very quickly and continued until we were able to fix the problem. ... show more
