  • Adult friendly string art kit!!
It was very messy, but we had a warm day in Ohio to make this outside. Too difficult for an 8 yr old to do it by herself. After the glue dried the next day, she could help remove the star balloon. Very hard for 2 adults to get the screw out of the battery holder. Don't make it with a screw, just a clip or button release. She loved the lights once it was completed. Glad we had a two day visit to complete this project with our granddaughter. ... show more

  • Great gift!
We have purchased several of these for gifts and they are always a hit. (Usually for 8-10 year olds.)

  • Very fun to do

  • Cute but difficult!
Maybe it was just me. This was an art project that my son and I did yesterday. Whoa! Followed the directions exactly. It said to use a fork or similar to separate the yarn to make sure all the glue got on all the string. Ugg. That made it all tangled up. It would have been better to cut strips and dip in glue and put on more like paper mache. Love the color of the yarn and overall itโ€™s super cute but save yourself the trouble and think of it more like paper mache. Cutting the string was the only way we could do it due to the tangles and it actually made for a super strong base so that worked out. Love the lights on it! ... show more

  • 10 year old granddaughter loved this!
I bought her the heart last year and she enjoyed making it so I didn't hesitate to purchase the star. Looking forward to seeing a moon kit available one day soon. I know my 25 year old daughter would enjoy making a kit of her own, with my granddaughter.

  • Great fun craft, needs help from adults.
Tips for best results: 1) Read instructions completely and cover your work area, it will be messy. 2) Pour glue into a quart sized ziplock bag instead of a bowl and place the whole spool inside. squeeze air out and seal then slosh the glue around to let it soak in for a good 5 minutes. 3) Skip the gloves, they get in the way. Just accept that it will be messy and get right into it. 4) Having 2 adults helping is ideal. Have one adult hold the balloon, and another unwind the yarn, let the child guide the yarn and wrap it around the balloon. The adult holding the balloon can help by rotating it. 5) When the yarn starts to feel dry, just put it back in the bag and let it soak up more glue. Towards the end, make sure you scrape out the last bit of glue from the jar. We had soak the yarn about 4 times total. 6) Let the whole thing dry for ~ 24 hours, flip it half way through as the instructions suggest. We used a large sturdy disposable plastic cup to support it and it worked great. ... show more
