  • Fantastic for the price.
I don't normally write long reviews, but this product impressed me so much I felt like I needed to, especially considering I believe I have good feedback for both consumers and designers for the board. Pros: Competitive market price, easy to use, good speed, does well with heavy weights, sturdy, one of the best-looking electric boards out there, color customization for wheels, somewhat waterproof. Cons: The remote is decent, but not great. Consumer review: Everything about this board amazed me. Packaging, charging, speed, price and how long it lasts. I bought this with the mini-warranty it came with because "you never know." but I haven't had to use it yet. The speed goes up to around 16 mph and that might not seem like much, but I mainly used it for commuting, and boy that was fast for me. The battery normally lasts around 4 days of commuting before I have to charge it (which is pretty good). Designer review: The controller could be re-designed to be 1. Smaller 2. Sturdier (my LED battery indicator stopped working after 4 days. 3. better looking. A simple controller revamp could boost your product from a 7.8 to a 9.4. That is literally all the complaints I have about this board. Overall: Great board, I have suggested this board to basically anyone who asked me about electric boards. Love the design, love the price, and love the speed. ... show more

  • Zippy
Color: Hurricane Black - Single Motor
Super fun to ride and a good entry level board to dip your toes in. Had a charger issue and their customer support fixed it immediately, 100% would reccomend.

  • Let down.
I bought 2 of these so I could alter them with better bushings and better bearings and have a little fun with a friend. The battery is over-rated in the description, they state that this board has a 4.4Ah battery, in reality it is a 2Ah battery or .074kWh. There are (20) 3.7 volt 2000 mAh 18650 batteries powering this board. 10 in series, 10 in parallel which makes the total 37 volts at 20000mAh or 2Ah. The charging system maintains 10 pairs of 2 batteries uniformly so no cell becomes weaker than another. The control board and driver board are well built for the price, there are some cheap components here but overall the build quality is good. I read earlier that there is glue holding things together here, the glue is to prevent things from coming apart due to vibration. This board got to about 17mph with me on it at 165lbs out of the box and I rode it for an hour without losing any real charge. It is a little loose and theslightest movement turns the board. The remote is well built and the range is about 20 feet meaning you won't lose connection while riding. The charger could be thought out a little better, the battery has direct connection to the charge port which results in a spark when hooking up the charger, this can effect longevity of the charger as it wears the terminals out over time. Over all I would say my purchase was worth it, if you are just starting out this won't let you down, it may be a little much for small children unless they use slow mode. Rechargeable remotes are nice but they don't come with a charger, you will need a USB wall plug. **Update!!!! Both boards have been ridden three times now, today for the third time as a matter of fact. The first ride we got 9.8 miles, the second ride we made it about 7 miles (same 2 people on the same boards at the same spot). Today however, we got 5 miles on fully charged batteries. The reason for the 1 star, the chargers!!! 1 charger smoked 2 hours after being hooked up in my house, the second charger got hit enough to possibly cause a burn if you were to pick it up!!! I unplugged the units for now because i have to wait for my flir to charge to get a good temperature reading as I don't have a thermometer here lol. More to come. ... show more

  • It's OKAY, but not great. Then again, it's only $300. Read below:
Eh, it's okay. Didn't wow me, but still a good board. To be completely unbiased, I have compiled a list of pros and cons. About me: I am a 23 y/o longboarder with about 4 years of experience riding a regular longboard augmented with good trucks, wheels, and bearings. I weigh about 200 pounds and am about 6'1. Those with similar stats should pay special attention to what I'm about to write: Pros: - It's $300. In the electric skateboard world, this is a steal. Considering that the Boosted board is $1200, this board is actually AFFORDABLE for most middle-class people. Boosted boards are beautiful and amazing, but only upper-middle-class people or people like Casey Neistat can afford them. Therefore, $300 is a major pro. - It's an electric skateboard! LOL, all my life I've only owned regular longboards, so having something that can actually do the accelerating FOR me is awesome! - It's cool. Everyone will want to ride your skateboard because it has a motor in it! Of course, exercise caution and instruct people how to ride it. Injuries are not cool. CONS: - Remote control/Skateboard synchronization - I cannot tell you how many times the remote control loses sync with the skateboard; It's ridiculous! Literally, every 10 minutes the remote control will lose sync with the skateboard, meaning that you need to get off, turn the skateboard off, turn the remote control off, turn the skateboard back on, turn the remote control back on, and then be prepared to repeat the whole process over in another 10 minutes. I have no idea why this happens, but honestly, it's not a big deal, unlike con #2: - Battery life 1 HOUR TOPS - OMG, this thing dies quick! I am lucky that all I need for this skateboard to do is propel me 2 miles from my work to my home, of which I take the bus vice-versa in the morning because if not, this thing would die halfway! The battery is not good, despite it being huge, heavy, and requiring 2+ hours to charge. It literally dies in about 30-45 minutes. I guess you get what you pay for, but gosh I wish it would last a little longer. :( - Speed slows down 50% after the battery is dead 50% - this goes in hand-in-hand with what I just talked about. Once the battery dips below 50%, acceleration is cut down TREMENDOUSLY, almost to the point where you might as well start pushing yourself with your own foot because this thing becomes slow. - Maximum weight 300lbs. - This is not a big issue for kids or teenagers, but as a 200 lbs. 23 y/o male, it is! I have to be very careful about putting things in my backpack (I'm a student) because this skateboard can only handle so much! Forget packing your laptop or change of clothes for gym class, because unless you are very skinny (minus 200 pounds), this thing will definitely not last long! OVERALL: I think this is a good starter board. For riders with minimal needs, this will do fine. For anybody looking to travel serious distances (5+ miles), look elsewhere. Save your money and buy the Boosted board. ... show more
