First off, this kit does NOT come with lights. You will see lights in my picture because I used my own lights. Also, I have attached a picture of the base plate and instructions side-by-side to explain something that might help someone. If you are in the first few steps and you feel like your pieces aren't matching up, look at the photo I have attached. This will help you a lot. Now for my thoughts. I enjoyed this build SO much. I think the price is very good for what you get. Please note: These are MICRO mini bricks. They are not just smaller than Lego, they are smaller than small. I have attached a picture to show you the difference in size between Lego, Mini, and Micro. This may hurt your finger tips sometimes. What I did was use an eyebrow tweezer to help place parts and to push them down. This did wonders for me and no more hurt fingers! I also chose to string lights through mine. I drilled a hole through the base plate and used a box knife to notch the bricks I need to bypass. This is 100% unnecessary, but for anyone wanting to have lights in it, this will definitely be possible for you. This build was so much fun and I found the directions easy to follow for how many pieces this was. If you are not familiar with brick-build instructions, this will take some getting used to. If you're a brick-building pro, easy peasy. I also wanted a different look for my towers. The original build had black bricks in the tower windows, which looks nice. I wanted them lit up, so I had to redesign my tower windows. You may notice that my towers look different than the sample picture, this is why. I have attached some photos of the build as I went. I was sad when the build was over because it was very fun and as a huge LEGO fan, I was not at all disappointed by this kit. I was actually really surprised that I loved it this much. 100% giftable item!

It's a fun build and a good challenge. The blocks are tiny, there is a tool, but because the bags are kinda mixed I didn't find it until I opened the second bag. It was a little difficult to start because the base is large, easy to get going once the base foundation is set. The issues I've encountered are mostly user error and to me to don't detract from how fun this is for me. Pictures of me in the process of building.

I enjoyed building this one. The instructions were clear. The pieces came in multiple bags, but I didn't need to open all of them at once for the first few steps. I got to steadily open, sort, and put together throughout the build. There were lots of extra pieces at the end but not for every block.

I wanted a castle block set and this was perfect! My daughter and I had a great time putting it together and some pieces were difficult, but I would say the other 99% of the pieces were easy to assemble. A great piece to talk about too with your friends!

I love micro-builds and this totally checked all the boxes for me! The instructions are clear and easy to read and follow. The pieces are separated into bags and I like to use the bowl method where I pour them into paper bowls so I can see the pieces and sort through them easier. Definitely made the build faster although it's still a time consuming piece which is great for people who enjoy building. Keep in mind these pieces are small and some parts are tedious but the end result is just stunning. Highly recommend
