My take on the 34" Pyle acoustic steel string guitar. This is my third Pyle acoustic guitar. I enjoy playing smaller guitars. I play mostly bluesy stuff with slides. My first and second Pyle guitars were acoustic electrics. Tried the 30" model. It was fine, but a bit tight in scale length. The shirt scale length also made slide playing more difficult than a longer axe. Slide placement had to be perfect. I enjoyed that little one while I had it, but did sell it. Then I ordered a full length Pyle acoustic electric. I believe it was a 41". On that one the built in tuner quit after a couple weeks. Everything else was, just fine. But, it was just too big. Sold it. I had already owned a 36" for like 13 years, and wanted to go a bit smaller. Hence,thus 34". I wanted an acoustic electric, but Amazon was out of the 34" Pyle. I am impressed with Pyle acoustics, and had looked at this 34". I order the black one. I am happy with this. I feel the size is the best compromise for me. It's good looking, compact, plays and sounds good. Two cons. 1. It's not an acoustic electric. Not really a negative, because I ordered it that way. 2. The strings are lower quality. The first set didn't last long. I'm using the second set now. After these I'll try install a better set. The tuners seem just fine. I have to tune it every time I play it. But, I keep it in my living room out in the open on a stand, windows open. I live in Hawaii, and this climate plays hell on the tuning of acoustic guitars. Every morning the guitar has gone sharp. Totally due to climate. The frets are just fine. Edges are not sharp, and the gap between frets and strings are fine. The gap is fine for both fingering, and slide work. If this had an active pickup with EQ, it would be perfect for me. Local guitar shop wants like $140 to install that. I'm afraid I'd screw it up if I tried it. So, I'll enjoy playing it as is. Oh, I consider myself a guitar hack, but have hacked guitars for about 46 years now. ... show more

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my son with the perfect plan to turn him into a child prodigy so I can retire early. This guitar sounds good and plays well. The craftmanship and material quality are on par with a great beginner guitar. It comes with a good assortment of accessories and extras. Ordered this guitar based on price point, it’s not anything like a full size acoustic which I owned one in the past, another story for another day. Anyways - this is small enough for a kid or beginner trying to get used to working the fret board. This was a complicated task on the full size for me originally. I have practiced or played this more than I ever had on my previous guitar. There are other guitars like this out there but I would highly recommend this one. Packaged nicely, sounds fairly decent keeping in mind not the full sound of a Dreadnought or however you spell that. So if you are a beginner for the price this is a good 3/4 trainer. ... show more

I was looking for a travel guitar with good sound, good features/playability and a reasonable price. This exceeded my expectations. Good tuners, good fretboard, and reasonably good sound given the size and materials. You can spend less money on a cheaper instrument, but I doubt they will play as well as the Pyle. This stays in tune, plays well (and with a capo), and a great travel size. I expect to get many years of good companionship with this guitar. I am sure it would play well for younger musicians, although it can be good to start with a nylon string guitar before moving on to a steel string guitar like this Pyle. ... show more

    • fair guitar, a couple problems though
Pros: It arrived on time, was in well secured packaging, all accessories were present accounted for and functional. The guitar tuned up right away and plays like a dream. Sound quality is comparable to more expensive guitars. The string action is perfect and there was no fret buzz. All frets on the guitar 1-20 ring clear. Cons: There is a ding on the front left corner of the guitar about half an inch x 1/4 of an inch despite all the great packaging. There is a mild case of fret sprout. So much for no sharp edges, right? Anyways, normally for most people, these two discrepancies would be definite deal breakers and reason for immediate return, but I like the guitar enough to keep it and deduct two stars from the rating. So yeah, this guitar is pretty average at best for me. ... show more

It was a very good quality guitar and functioned well. It was easy to play if you were an intermediate plus but for beginners it is tough on your fingers. When I ordered it, it said gray but when I received it, it was green. I was as not totally mad but still was a bid annoyed
