This is a great traveling soft crate for use in the car, RV or just for use at home. I am going to be using this as a safe place for my four pound Chihuahua to travel while in our motorhome. Yes, it is much larger than he needs but when you add his favorite bed, his favorite toys and water/food dishes the space fills up. He does not like small confined spaces as many dogs do so this is perfect for him. I will secure the crate to the motorhome floor with two Velcro straps between the passenger and driver's seat. This soft crate is easy to pop open and secure by using two spring tension tubes. The fabric is strong and the corners are reinforced with a stronger meshed fabric. There is plenty of room to store items in the side pocket that has a Velcro closure. The water bottle holder has a pull string closure to keep it in place when traveling. The two side openings have two zipper pulls and the zippers open and close with ease. The top opening has one zipper pull with both mesh screen and fabric. There is also an additional zipper storage compartment on the top. All of flap openings can be rolled up and secured with Velcro tabs to keep open if desired. The soft crate comes with a thin pad for use on the bottom of the crate. I like having an opening on the wide and the narrow side of the crate which allows more choices when placing the crate in a specific setting. My only concern with this soft crate is the bottom support. The fabric material used is strong but it wraps around the outside of the metal support tubes without any other tabs to secure the fabric to the metal tubes. All of the dogs weight will push down on the fabric if the crate is carried using the carrying straps and handle. If your dog is heavy and you plan to carry the crate around I don't think the fabric will hold up over a long period of time. If you plan on keeping this on a solid surface like I plan on doing then this soft crate should last quite a while. The first thing my Chihuahua did when he got into the crate was to start digging. The fabric is strong and shows no signs of fraying after several digging sessions. He is not prone to chewing things up so a soft crate might not be a good choice for you and your dog if they like to chew. Overall, I am pleased with the construction of this soft crate and how I am going to use it for my dogs specific needs.
