I bought this unit to replace one that was rated for the same pints per day water removal rate. This unit is half the size, but removes water at the same rate as the previous unit - plus it is more quiet and efficient. Problem is that the on-board tank is too small. You have to empty it more than once a day. I don't have a place to drain it in my basement, so I bought a 2.5 gallon external tank. I can now empty it every other day during the high humidity season. ... show more

I was using this unit in a basement that is approximately 1000 sq feet, half of what this unit is supposed to be able to handle, and it never lowered the humidity below 60%. After much back-and-forth with customer service, the company eventually gave up and stated "Our machine can significantly reduce humidity, but it requires more and longer working time in an environment of 1000 square feet." The dehumidifier had been running for just over a month at that point, so this is clearly not a matter of the machine needing more time. They advised me to return the product through Amazon; however, my return window closed during the time I was trying to trouble-shoot with customer support. While I knew that many manufacturers of dehumidifiers overstate their products' capabilities, advertising something that is this far from the truth is unacceptable. Another, less important flaw with this unit is that it doesn't use a drain hose that screws on. It's tube that simply slides into place, and that connection leaks slowly. ... show more

    • It gets the job done
I bought this dehumidifier a couple of months ago, and it’s been great! The quality is excellent, it operates quietly, and it gets the job done. I have it in my shop, which is about 800 sq. ft., and it works perfectly. It comes with both a drain hose and a tank. I can’t use the hose because of the concrete around my shop, but even with the tank though it’s a bit small, I haven’t had any issues. I need to empty it once a day due to high humidity, but if you can use the hose, you won’t have to worry about frequent emptying. Overall, I’m very happy with this dehumidifier, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something like this. Definitely worth it! ... show more
