    • Much Easier to Use Horizontally for Pulling than Traditional Chain Hoist
I've had an overhead chain host for a number of years, but it's kind of a nightmare to use for pulling things horizontally onto a trailer or anything else where the load is not directly below the hoist. So, when I saw this item, I was really excited. It turns out it's a lot like a tie down strap on steroids, and there are not lengths of chain all over the place to manage. For the cost, this feels pretty decent. If you don't get crazy with the weight you're pulling, I'd expect it to last a good, long while. The orange paint makes it easy to find, and the ratcheting mechanism engages smoothly. It's amazing how much force you can exert with so little effort. This hoist takes pretty much everything I hate about come-alongs and improves on it. Definitely a worthy addition to your stable of tools if you do any sort of construction, automotive, or farm and ranch work. It's priced a bit higher than your traditional chain hoist, and it wouldn't work as well as one of those for vertical lifting since you'd need to be up on a ladder or otherwise elevated to reach the handle to rotate it. But, for any sort of pulling, this is well worth it. Easier and safer than using big ratchet straps and come-alongs. I like it! ... show more

This hoist operates smoothly and is well constructed. I wanted this for a garage setup but now feel it is too heavy for my application. I have some forestry work where this can come in handy. This thing is heavy and awkward to handle, but that is not unexpected given the 1.5T capacity. Be sure your I-beam or mounting point is stout enough to support the capacity of this hoist. Always use your brain to avoid serious injury or damage. The chain is clean and smooth. The directional controls are easy to use once you do it a couple times. The rubber grip on the handle could be a little better. The hooks have safety catches which work well. ... show more

I'm not someone that does a ton of heavy work, and certainly nothing in the 3300lbs category, but I did want something that could handle some motor lifting, and occasionally act as an additional stabilizer on motorcycles being worked on, etc. Overall, this hoist is easy to install and use, and is more than capable of providing upto the roughly 1000lbs of lift that I need. I will say that I have doubts about the effectiveness of this in getting it's rated power without having a purpose-built installation. If you have the ability to do purpose-built, you're probably buying a higher quality product so this is an interesting case of rating exceeding likely use. No complaints at all about this hoist. It's well made, heavily constructed, and works great. I have this mounted in my garage, and have used it to lift all manner of things. Although I haven't lifted anything nearly as heavy as it's claimed capacity, I wouldn't doubt that it's capable of lifting everything that the manufacturer claims. It's constructed of heavy duty steel, and the chains are nice and thick. The ratchet action is nice and smooth, and after a few months of use it's never let me down. Used this today on a piece of equipment that needed a welding repair. This brought everything back into alignment easily and with precision. Easy to operate.     • Heavy duty and well built
This thing absolutely will do the job if you need a hoist. I used it to pull up a pole that was cemented into the ground. Came up with no issues at all. Very well built and super heavy duty. Just a note: This thing is very heavy so make sure you're able to lift it/move it around.
