Description

The SU-100 was a Soviet SPG commissioned in 1944. The genesis of this model involved the need to strengthen self-propelled artillery at the end of the war. The newly constructed D10 - 100 mm cannon was mounted on the slightly modified hull of the popular SU-85. In the period 1944-46, about 4,500 units of this vehicle were produced. The SPG was very popular, serving in dozens of armies around the world. Several countries still keep the SU-100 on standby. The SU-100 SPG model is entirely designed with COBI building blocks. The inclusion of many awesome pad prints has enabled the vehicle to be faithfully reproduced. The set does not contain stickers at all, only prints! And the prints do not scratch or smear even during heavy use. The model is equipped with efficient crawler traction, a movable gun and openable hatch. Under the service flap there is a detailed motor. The set includes blocks with Soviet and Polish markings to choose from, another innovative and fun feature COBI brings to the set. The set is complemented by a figure of a soldier with a Mauser rifle, a cap and a red banner. The easy-to-read manual contains a list of blocks and statistics that you can use in the free COBI Historical Battle Game. This COBI kit is ideal for the construction of dioramas reproducing the Eastern Front. The SU-100 is the perfect gift idea for anyone of any age and a great start to your COBI construction set adventure.

  • Not a Lego, doesn't claim to be.
I bought this because Lego has nothing like it. It looks fantastic. I found the detail in the instructions hard to see in some spots. One place showed two different bricks installed in the same area. I was missing one brick at the end that I was able to substitute a Lego brick for. Unlike Lego, you have to open all the parts to build it, it was a one day build for me, so it wasn't a big issue. I spent a lot of time sorting through all the bricks to find the ones I needed. I will order more planes from COBI because I really think it came out great, just be warned, it is a little different than building a Lego. ... show more

  • Typical Cobi - Missing an essential piece
My son loves the realistic products Cobi makes, it never fails though that an important piece is missing making it impossible to finish till Cobi sends a replacement piece from Germany. Very realistic looking though.

  • Excellent model. Excellent customer service.
The Vought Au-1 Corsair is an excellent set and is extremely attractive. COBI's instructions show the added parts in color with everything else grayed out making it easy to locate the added parts. It is sometimes useful to look ahead a step or two when it is not clear how a part should be placed. The parts fit well. One part was defective. That happens, but COBI customer support is EXCELLENT. Using the link provided in the instructions, I easily ordered the replacement part, and it was immediately sent by priority mail. I have ordered many sets from COBI (mostly World War II) and this was the first one that had a defective or missing part. ... show more

  • Cobi scores again
Cobi keeps making great military models. My son loves the WWII era planes Cobi makes. Cobi is getting smarter too; there are no more stickers!!! The planes markings are pre-printed on the pieces. Add in that these models/toys are fun to play with they require no glue (unless something breaks) and it easily beats teaching my son to glue models and put on decals any day. This is his 3rd version of the Corsair (all different) that we’ve purchased and built. My son is a big fan and so am I. ... show more

  • Great building kit, Very obviously a Corsair at a glance.
Box a little crimped, but contents were undamaged. Wonder if that's why it was on sale and then jumped in price right after I bought it. Pieces and instructions were undamaged though, so no big deal. Since its quite thin in places and there's a lot of small detail pieces, it takes some finesse to put it together and it's not as rigid as perhaps I would like. The stand slots into a hole attached to the bottom and it has some wobbly play to it. Wings fold up and loosely lock into the open position with a piece with simples holders that hold the bottom of the wings. Wheels have a closed position but they are lock in place, they do not swivel in to positions. Overall, its what I expected, its easily recognizable and pretty straightforward to put together. The issues with putting small pieces together and it feeling sturdy, should be expected with a brick model of this size. I've had similar issues with Lego models that are that thin in places. Took about 2 hours for me to build, but I didn't do it in one sitting and didn't do it in the most convenient space. ... show more

  • Sweet Set
The wings are great! One of the most fun sets I ever built! This one is way on par with the big brick company. 10 out of 10
