My oven wouldn't lite even though the old igniter was glowing hot. I replaced it and the now the oven is working. My understanding is, the oven is looking for a certain resistance when you turn on the oven and the igniter is glowing. If it doesn't see the correct resistance it doesn't open the gas valve. This corrected that. It could be a bit cheaper for what it is, at $26.
