I tried other chargers but they punk out after just a year or two, and they can't be serviced. I'm thrilled with the Andmon charger, though, because 1) it's a heavy-duty old-school battery that will likely be more durable, 2) it packs a wallop and so my goats respect it, 3) it's easier than the cheap ones to install, since it's molded to slide right onto a T-post, and 4) since it can be turned off with the flip of a switch, one can stop it at night, saving the charge and thus making the battery last longer for those cloudy days when the sun doesn't juice up the battery. Also, that makes it easier to work next to the fence without either unhooking parts or getting shocked because even though it seems an easy thing to watch out for the wire, in reality it's WAY too easy to brush it in close quarters. ... show more

Installed this solar charger over two months ago to protect a remote patch of Christmas trees from cattle and wildlife. The fence charger is working well and lights up every level on my tester. Setup is quick and easy. Just connect the sealed battery and it’s ready to go. The unit is waterproof, sturdy and it slips easily and securely on a t-post. I love it! It beats all the other fence chargers I’ve had before. I’m using it on 200 acre lease property for my cow and calf operation. With wire clear of tree limbs and tall Johnson grass it puts out 9.9 kv (9900 volts). I have had Johnson grass and a few tree limbs on the wire and still have a charge on it. I have 3 of these for 4 years and no problems with this charger. ... show more

Easy to set up and get working. Currently electrifying 328 feet of 48" high poultry netting. Works great, even during the short days of winter. Lots of clouds and rain this spring but the charger hasn't missed a beat, keeping my poultry safe from the numerous predators in my area.
