I've been setting up a home gym and wanted a adjustable weight. This dumbbell is super easy to work with. It has the clicking mechanism in place to increase or reduce the weight. I tested this adjustable dumbbell set and overall came away impressed by its design and feel. The weights handle comfortably during workouts, and the materials feel solid and well-made — not cheap plastic like some lower-end sets. Adjusting between weight levels is quick and smooth, which makes it easy to move from one exercise to another without breaking your rhythm. That said, I do wish it came with an actual stand or holder to keep the weights organized. Right now, I just have to set them on the floor, which isn’t ideal for small spaces or quick transitions between sets. One thing worth noting is how the individual plates clip onto each other. It’s a clever design for convenience, but it does make me a little cautious — I wouldn’t want to drop these from any height. The connecting parts seem sturdy enough for normal use, but I’m not sure how they’d hold up over time if they took a few hard impacts. All in all, this is a great space-saving option for home workouts, especially for anyone who doesn’t need heavy lifting gear. With a dedicated stand and some reinforcement on the locking mechanism, it could easily be a top-tier adjustable dumbbell set.

This weight set is exactly what I was looking for to get my husband to start working out with me again. They are super easy to use and the weights come off and go back in so nicely. You don’t have to force anything it glides smoothly every time I have tried to add or take away the little weights they just click ever so lightly. It’s quiet. The shape of these also adds to the effectiveness of these weights. Since they are square versus round you end up with a very stable foundation for certain exercises that require it to stay put. They included an information sheet that teaches you how to use them too which was great because I felt like I forgot a bunch of them since I last worked out. Regardless this is a really nice set of dumbbells that can be used in so many different ways for anyone to be able to achieve their fitness goals. They allow you to work up to 30lbs of weight so you won’t strain yourself and that’s so important! They also have a fair price. I’d give them 10 stars if I could.

Over several decades I've developed an extensive set of traditional styles of dumbbells. in the 2-12 pound range I have the thicker grip neoprene covered cast iron dumbbells. In the 5-50 lb range I have the standard sized shaft, rubber covered hex dumbbells. I have fixed plate and bar sets (mostly Ivanko) ranging from 25 - 80 pounds. Between my wife and I, all get used over the course of each year, many with regularity. So why on earth did I acquire this fairly expensive pair of adjustable dumbbells? Well, after a lifetime of outdoor activities (climbing, mountaineering and canyoneering) and less adventurous activities like splitting cords of wood and changing off road tires, we are a living encyclopedia of orthopedic injury and minor (well, some not so minor) disabilities. Still, we regularly engage in weight training to maintain strength, mobility and to overall functional capacity. But we do so cautiously to avoid new injury and exacerbation of chronic injuries. One of the major means of doing so is carefully matching load to the capacity of the targeted muscle/tendon/ligament group. Steps of 20, 10, even 5 pounds are not always wise, even if feasible. Which is what (finally) brings me to the reason for adding this adjustable dumbbell set. This set, with its unit of expansion being based on kilograms rather than pounds, results in weights that often fall ln between the typical pound values--in this case 4.4/6.6/8.8/11/13.2/15.4lbs. (and if you combine onto an individual bar, 17.6 is also realistic). Only the 15.4 weight is not significantly different from the common available pound based dumbbell. I find the 8.8, 13.2 and 17.6 to be most useful to provide an intermediary step as one seeks to avoid 5 pound increases in training load. Helpful as it is to have these additional weigh intervals available to supplement existing weight sets, there are some disadvantages to the weight system itself. The most significant, for me, is that the weighted area increases to an awkward length as all the plates become stacked. This longer area can result in loss of form for actions that run close to the body, for example, some cross body curls or behind the back tricep extensions. The extent of this may vary depending on body charismatics, such as arm and torso length, but it is troublesome for both my wife and I. Another disadvantage is long term durability. Many of my dumbbells are 20 to 30 years old, some even much older. They are virtually indestructible only deliberately abused--not so with this adjustable system. Eventually their plastic is going to crack, possible at the attachment point. As it is, there is some motion at the interface between "plates" which can generate a subtle rattle and discernible shaking of the weight. These are small matters, but are a minor irritant compared to the solidity of a traditional weight. Perhaps my greatest disappointment is the shaft (bar) to which the weights attach. It is clear that decisions about the knurling on the shaft were made by someone who does not have experience using dumbbells. While I like that the overall diameter of the shaft is a bit larger than the diameter found on most dumbbells (except the neoprene covered ones), the knurling is shallow and poorly distributed---it occurs at the center of the shaft where your 2 and 3rd finger are placed, and for most hands/grips there is no knurling at the circle formed by your thumb and first finger, nor at your little finger. Yet these are the points where greatest grip is applied, in part to help stabilize the weighted ends. Overall, I find these weights to be best matched to the person who wants a less "gym-like" weight that will fit better with home decor--both visually and being less potentially damaging to surrounding surfaces. And an adjunct to other primary forms of fitness (e.g., yoga, pilates), they should fulfill their role rather well. And in that context I find them worth of a 4 star rating.

This set is pretty amazing. My family really cares about fitness and there are days when it's too cold to go to the gym, especially when we are trapped under way too much snow. This set allows us to all use the same set of dumbbells while being space efficient. The locking mechanism and adjustment ability are really cool and I love the fact that it comes with two dumbbells whereas most adjustable dumbbell sets I have seen so far only comes with one. In addition, the fact that it doesn't roll because the weights are square shaped is a huge bonus for us as well. The grip is excellent and doesn't hurt our hands, and the price is really reasonable.

Nice adjustable set, we have another set for heavy dumbbell increments. This set is great for light exercises as weight increment maxes at 30 pounds. Really like the ease of use and interchangeability its well engineered with a nice twist of interlock to engage or disengage a plate with flick of wrist. The handles and weight increments feel durable and of good quality good value for what you get.
