This shoe rack was pretty easy to put together. The instructions say it will take 2 people 30 minutes to assemble. It took me 40 minutes to do it by myself. Though they only give you one allen wrench and you need it for every step, so unless you have your own allen wrench set that's the same size, a second person won't help. The L part of this bench doesn't fit well in my entryway so I'm only using the main part and I'm using the L part as a movable spare table elsewhere. This bench looks decent and it cleans up my husband's shoes in our entryway. However, it does have a couple flaws. Once assembled, the bench is not flush to the ground so it rocks back and forth a little. I fixed it by creating a shim with a little felt. I'm surprised that this didn't come with any kind of protection for the feet -- there should be felt or little plastic feet or something so that it's not just bare particle board on the ground. Also, i takes a lot of screws to put this together and they are very visible. It would have been nice if there was something to cover the screws. I've put together plenty of things where they give you little stickers to cover the screws that matches the color of the unit. This thing isn't the best quality, but it does provide shoe storage and if you don't look too closely, it's fine.

I pick this up because I wanted to expand my shoe rack. I currently had a 12 pair shoe rack but now I can hold more. It was easy to setup and fit exactly how I needed to fit. You can either have the end bend or straight out. I was able to put more shoes on this rack which emptied my closet. I would high recommend this rack if your in need of space.

My son needed a little extra shelving in his room for some art supplies and night stand items. He decided to keep this unit as 2 separate pieces on each side of his bed. It’s working great for exactly what he needed. Even though it’s not being used for shoes in his case, we like that it’s versatile enough for many needs. Looks nice and easy to assemble.

This is a well designed beautifully finished piece. However, putting it together is not for the faint of heart. It comes with tons of screws and a very small diagram that you have to keep looking at to understand what screws go where and which way to attach everything. The parts and pieces fit together but tightening was difficult and there was a hole missing at one entry point. It was odd but I don’t have a way of creating a hole and it would damage the leg. I don’t like putting so many parts together. This is a nice piece but I rather find something that I don’t have to put together.

So versatile to be able to have one big bench, a corner bench or a bench and a stool. You get to set this up how you want it, attached or unattached. While the finished product looks great, I do have to point out that all the pieces arrived very oily upon unpacking. I got an oily stain residue all over my hands just unpacking the bench tops and shelves. I had to wipe off all the pieces with a dry polishing cloth before proceeding with the assembly. A couple of the legs had scratches on them, but I faced them toward the backside of the bench. Overall, you get 2 good size benches for the price of one with different install set up options. That’s still a big win.
