I needed to spray base/clear coat on a new grill and bumper for my truck. I installed this kit on my 80gal ingersoll compressor to ensure I had dry air for automotive painting. During the initial install, I noticed the first stage was leaking slightly due to being cross threaded and only 1/3rd the way threaded on. Luckily, with a whole lot of effort, I was able to remove the canister and properly install it and the treads weren’t mangled. Lots of reviews mention multiple places leaking. I didn’t experience that issue, but I did utilize Teflon tape on every threaded fitting and connection I made. So I purchased this filter system for my 60 gallon compressor that I’m running in my garage. I read the reviews that said that it leaked and had some other quality issues. When I received the part it actually looked not too bad. Where the bowls attach to the top they are a little loose, but they do seal when pressurized. The airflow direction goes from left to right . I needed it in the opposite direction so I decided to try to separate the units and reverse them. This turned out to be a good thing because I found out why some of them leak. There are O-rings between the two mounts that connect the three units and also mount it to the wall. The grooves are too deep for the O-rings and a larger size. O-ring is too big. I did notice that each unit is threaded on each end so I removed the mounts and the O-rings and replace them with close 3/4” MIP hex fittings. I also reversed the side of the port for the pressure gauge on the regulator, if you do this watch for the small O-rings that are inside of the covers when you reverse them from front to rear. So far no leaks and I don’t imagine there will be any Because I eliminated those O-ring mounts. Now to see if it actually works I will have to use it for a while and then update my review. I am confident of the modification that I did to my filter should eliminate a lot of problems for other people. ... show more

It came with missing parts and used which I didn’t realize until the person who recommended I buy this noticed it was very different from his delivery. The packaging was missing the pressure gauge and missing the pressure adjusting knob to name a couple. It was installed and I couldn’t return it.

Great product for my compressor system. Update your system as well. Went with motorguard filters as well. Update 05/2023. My old comp started oiling my piping system, along with more moisture into the new triple pneumatic system. It took me about 7 months to save up for a new compressor system. Went with an Eaton Polar 5hp, single phase whisper system. During the install and inspection of pipes and the THB triple air filter system I found that the desiccant chamber had expired and was frozen in place. After some persuasion I was able to free it up and inspect. What a mess. Appears the desiccant went into mush mode and destroyed that vessel and passed micro parts of broken desiccant down stream to my motor guard filters. See photos. I’m typically a maintenance phonetic. I have auto blow down on two places and moisture traps as well. I cleaned as much as possible to try and reuse. I’m questioning that idea. ... show more

    • Problem with the regulator; however, the company stands behind their product.

I bought this last year and finally got around to hooking it up for my plasma cutter. I set the regulator at 110 psi and the next time I hooked air up to the filter assembly, the regulator was well over 140 psi. About 11 months had passed since I got a chance to setup the plasma cutter and install the assembly. The company responded very quickly and replaced the regulator assembly with the appropriate regulator without any hassle and shipped it out quickly. Overall the unit seems to be of good quality.
