I use this hose for to attach to my air compressor to maintain and check the tire pressures on my vehicles. I was using a plastic hose before which was very frustrating because it was very stiff and would kink up. This Craftsmen product is made of durable rubber and can be very easily extended.

At first glance this hose seemed fine. After unrolling the hose and laying it out to relax, I coiled it up loosely on a hose hanger. When I looked at my hands, they were covered in a black substance which was almost impossible to remove from my hands. I tried cleaning the hose with various cleaners. the hose would look nice and clean but I bent the hose slightly and ran my hand down it and had the same result...filthy hands. I believe the problem is the rubber is degrading. I suspect the hose has been in stock for some time and is no longer serviceable. This product is the Craftsman 50-ft L x 3/8-in. Dia.     • Flexible but heavy; great improvement over vinyl
Note that the ends are just bare threaded male connectors. You’ll need a quick connect plug at one end and I assume a tool at the other end. I am using this to replace a thin vinyl hose that came with my compressor. The original hose was garbage. This is a huge improvement over the cheap vinyl hose. I’m glad to get rid of that item and replace it with a “big boy” hose. The vinyl hose got stiff when the temperature went down making it difficult to use. The Craftsman hose is heavy but flexible; much easier to use than vinyl. I used this in 32 degree weather and it remained flexible for the entire time I was using it (probably an hour or so). The Amazon ad says it is “resists twisting and kinking”. I agree that it doesn’t kink, but it twists and coils like rubber garden hoses. You have to twist it as you wind it up for storage just like a rubber garden hose. For those with history, it struck me that this even SMELLED like the old Sears Service Centers that sold tires! Overall, this is a big improvement over the cheap vinyl hose. The question is whether rubber is better than some of the hybrid hoses that claim to be as flexible as rubber in temperature extremes but are lighter and cost about the same. I don’t know if the hybrid hoses are chemical resistant like rubber hoses. I think it will be an individual preference choosing between the two, taking into account your personal situation. Nice good quality air hose. It reminds me of the olden days of Craftsman quality I remember as a young adult. Been using for six months and so far so good. Great purchase and fast shipping.
