First, a caveat: I play drums, not percussion, so feel free to take this with a grain of salt. That said, the quality of these mallets is pretty good. They're straight, no visible flaws, and they sound good. My only gripes are the felt beater (I'd have liked something just slightly softer) and the diameters of the sticks, though I'm aware that how I'm using these may be a bit of an edge case.

There's 3 pairs of sticks included -- one with hard black rubber tips and a second with yarn covered tips (both sticks measure 3/8 in. thick / 16 in. long). The 3rd much thicker set has timpani/bass drum type tips (7/8 in. thick / 14 inches long). All 3 can be used with any drum, although you need some restraint if it's a drum exclusively designed as a hand drum. Nice addition to any home with drums lying around.

The intimate thing is that these musical mallets are also equipped with a black elastic packaging bag, which looks very good. Perfect for beginners. I send this percussion mallet set to my 7-year-old son, and he liked it very much.
