  • Another GREAT VALUE!!
Size: 1 pack
Putting my home studio back together, I needed a mic stand. Was looking for something reasonably priced, the LyxPro Tripod mic stand seemed to fit the bid. My mechanical skills are average at best (yes, I am one of the guys that will try to put it together before reading the instructions smh), but I was able to put it together with ease. it came pretty much assemble though. Attached the boom and I was impressed. The boom rotates 180 degrees, so it is possible to use it straight up and down without disconnecting the boom arm. Comes with cable management clips. I'm using a MXL-770 Mic, which weighs approximately 1lb. with the boom arm fully extended, it doesn't tip over, and im not using and weights or sand bags. The key is to only extend the boom over one of the tripod legs. Do not extend out between legs, it will tip over. This is not a high dollar mic, but if its just for home use, you're just starting out and/or you are on a budget, it's a great mic stand. ... show more

  • VERY solid, well-built stand. Perfect middle ground between $10 plastic garbage and $80 mic stands
Size: 1 pack
All metal construction and threaded tube ends make this a high-end and reliable stand. For my uses I wish it had a weighted round base instead of a tripod, but even the tripod is incredibly stable and well-designed. Also I imagine it’s much easier to transport. The clutch seems solid and has allowed easy adjustment for different heights, and the upright stand functions alone AND/OR with the boom arm (both are identically and solidly threaded) so this is at least 2 stands in 1 package. Threaded connectors have both common mic thread sizes available, and an adjustable nut for stability. I am using the stand for a HEAVY mic setup that has only ever tipped inferior stands — this one holds it like a champ. ... show more

  • Pretty darned good in this amateur's view
Size: 2 Pack
pretty good. never interacted with a mic boom before. the thing to look for isn will it support the weight of the mic and whatever anti-shaking thing when the arm is fully extended? apparently the sbility to do this separates the wheat from the chaff in boomtown. I have an AT2020 with anti wobble flutter thingy attached and it will NOT support this with the boom fully extendedj it sags down not matter how I try to tighten it. That said, everything else about it seems solid enough and the boom extends to 3/4ths its length and stays. At any length more than 1/2 it sags a little bit past where you thought you had tightened it, but you compensate in your adjustments, then it stays there OK. Maybe a pro would say no boom is meant to be extended all the way, so there you go. I truly have no idea. I know I took the Amazon Basics one out of my cart when people complained about it sagging at any length with a good microphone and I am glad I did. Anyway, you only need the boom arm extended to the max if for some reason you can't place the tripod fairly near what they call the talent, in this case, my mom. the rest of it is A++. knobs, balance, height, adjustability, a well thought out design which will not leave you cursing your decision and will allow you to get things just right ehich it turns out is harder than you think or at least than I thought. Four and a half stars from me. ... show more

  • Great value, holds condenser mics securely above drum kits
Size: 3 Pack
Great buy to hold overhead condenser mics above the drum kit. Stable and adjustable which help work it between the cymbal stands. Quality in the paint, joints, and tolerances is above what I could have expected. They are lightweight in general but not so much that the topple over with mics and the cords when extended out 30 inches from center. The price for 3 stands makes this a nice value, I would purchase again. ... show more

  • Good for home use. Not durable enough for much else.
Size: 2 Pack
These stands are fine if you aren't moving them or adjusting them very much. Mine broke after about 1 year of significant use. If you are a working musician etc, these won't last.

  • Fantastic Intro to mid level stand. Needs a sandbag to perform at mid level.
Size: 1 pack
Seems like it will work fantastic for any sitting position. It will work for more vocal standing positions, but you would be a bit limited. Very good for a 36" high (90cm) desk. It will go 6" (15cm) up and down past that. I readjust the boom arm maybe 3 times a week, and it's just starting to feel better than it was. That's usually a sign of good construction. Even if you can only adjust 15 degrees at a time, it still seems more robust than a flat brake now. I'd say if you're using an XLR mic at a computer, this is a fantastic intro-mid level microphone stand. I'd also recommend making some sandbags and buying some proper bags for them. Once you go 2x past the stand overhang you're gonna get a lot of instability ... show more

  • Boom mic stands
Size: 3 Pack
I haven't really used them yet, other then setting them up here at home. They are built well and hold the Shure58 mics (which are heavy) boomed out just fine. And so far haven't tilted over. I don't think they will either. The tripod legs expand rather nicely and give a good wide base to stand on. Some of the other mic boom stands will tilt over cause the legs don't spread wide enough and or the stand overall is to light weight. I like these mic stands and will purchase more in time and also tell others about them. ... show more

  • I bought this one because it looked sturdy and had large knobs for easier operation
Size: 1 pack
While I am not a gorilla, I can tighten adjusting knobs on music/audio gear stands. I bought this one because it looked sturdy and had large knobs for easier operation. After more effort than a mic-stand has ever required from me, I thought I had everything tight, then added an SM58 microphone. At just over half of the boom extension, the mic gradually drooped toward the floor. Reset and leaned into the adjustment. Droop. 3rd time was charm. Not. It's going back to Amazon. I'm looking for something that works. ... show more
