  • A Creative Build That Kept My Son Busy and Happy
I got this robot building kit for my son and it turned out to be a fun project for both of us. He was excited to open the box and start building right away. I appreciated how the designs encouraged him to think creatively while still giving him enough structure to follow along. He took his time putting the pieces together and seemed proud of each step he completed. I noticed that working on it helped him stay focused longer than usual. The different build options kept him interested because he liked switching between ideas and seeing what he could create next. He also enjoyed using the app features, which made the finished robot feel even more interactive. Watching him learn how the movements worked gave me a sense of how much he was picking up. We spent a good amount of time testing it out and laughing when it bumped into furniture. The kit gave us a chance to work together in a way that felt natural and fun. He has already asked to rebuild it into one of the other versions. Overall, it has been a great addition to his collection of hands-on toys and I’m happy with the experience it gave him. ... show more

  • Good quality and a fun way to learn.
If you are looking for a really nice STEM starter robot kit, then this is a good choice. This kit is very well designed and thought out. The listing states that you can build 3 different robots, but as I have found out, you can also build variations of the 3 robots. All of the pieces connect and function as they should and work well. You can use either the included remote or an app to control the robots. In my experience, the app seems to work more intuitively. The robots use built-in rechargeable batteries, which saves you from having to buy them like many STEM robot kits. If you want to use the remote, then it requires 2 AA batteries, and from my experience the batteries will last a very long time. These types of robots are a great way to teach your children or grandchildren how to build, design, and operate technology items. These types of kits are better for children to learn something useful instead of them always playing video games. The quality of the parts is good, and I expect this STEM robot kit will last a long time. Based on my experience with STEM robot kits, the pricing on this one is quite good compared to others I have dealt with. ... show more

  • Educational and keeps kids engaged
This kit has been a huge hit at our house. It can be built into a battle robot, a tracked motorcycle, or a tank, so there’s plenty of variety to keep kids interested. The instructions are clear and colorful, making it easy for my child to follow along mostly on his own. The pieces snap together well and feel sturdy, which is great because he’s rebuilt it a few times already. The remote and app control features really make this set stand out. The app lets you control the robot’s movements, trace paths, use the gyroscope mode, and even do simple coding, so it's not just about building and is also about learning how to think logically and problem-solve. My daughter loves experimenting with different moves and watching his robot come to life through the app. I like how it encourages STEM learning and creativity while still being tons of fun. It’s a perfect mix of play and education. The blocks are smooth and safe for kids to handle, and the stickers are a nice touch for customizing their creations. Overall, this is an excellent gift for kids who enjoy building, robots, or coding. It keeps them busy for hours, helps them learn new skills, and gives them a real sense of accomplishment when they see their robot move for the first time. ... show more

  • Better than I expected
We have tried to increase our focus on STEM toys for our kids, and did not expect that they would enjoy them as much as they do. Our daughter and son both love any building block set like this, and my son really likes radio controlled toys, so they both have fun with this set. The instruction book is nice and thorough, the robot battery is rechargeable, and the remote control is powered by two AA batteries that you need to supply. I wish it were also rechargeable. While it is designed to build a robot, tank, and motorcycle, kids can adjust the build a little bit and it will still work. Stickers also lend to creativity. You can use the remote control, but there is also an app with additional features. My son likes using the features, but says he prefers driving with the remote control. He has said that about other RC vehicles he has that have apps, so it's not because of this app. There are good RC vehicles for less, but the being able to build the vehicle, having a variety of them that you can choose from, and the extra options in the app all add to the value, especially if the coupon is still available on the product information page. Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful. ... show more

  • Lots of little robots out there, but this one you can build yourself and three ways.
In one way this is really similar to the old transformers and that you can change it from one character to another but what really makes this toy unique is that the kids get to actually build it themselves. The building part is what I really like because a lot of toys that are labeled STEM really don't do much educating. When a child has to figure out how things go together by orienting individual pieces to be able to get them to fit together spatial relations and dexterity both get learned. As to the quality of the product it is also excellent with the individual pieces molded excellently with no warpage or flash. My granddaughter is this one for Christmas. Maybe I'll come back after Christmas and tell you how she did and how much she liked it. In the meantime, this one gets my five stars. ... show more

  • Great stem product at a good price.
I got this for my 6year old grandson and know he will love it. First off, there are lots of parts and 100 pages of directions. So be prepared to be a hands on parent while building these robots. The parts are separated in baggies to ease the assembly process. Comes with a sheet of stickers though mine are wrinkled a little. Instructions are clear and come with good pictures. Actual parts and finished product looks very good and is definitely something an 8 year old would play with. Box also has a divider for after you take it apart, to keep the parts separated. I would buy more like this due to the type of toy it is. ... show more
