This is my first DRO and it's going on my new milling machine. This seller went out of their way to take care of me and address any issue that I had. It comes in a couple of different shipments so give the seller a message and you will get info on your order. I will be putting a DRO on my lathe next and it will be from this seller after the service they gave. Edit: I was finally able to get time to install the DRO and it's wonderful. I installed in on a PM728 and bought the mount kit for the PM728, it does take some modifying of the mount kit for this DRO but it's nothing major to do it. You have to drill and tap the mounts for the reader to M3x.5 and 40mm vs what the PM728 DRO kit has already and mill a slot in the digital display mount so it will connect to the mount bracket that comes with the kit. The hardest part is taking the time to make sure the rails and everything are the same from end to end, which has to be done with any DRO install for it to work accurately. To cut the scales I removed the stainless guard and used a hacksaw (gently) cutting them about 1/16" long and then milled the ends on the milling machine, cut the stainless guard and re-tapped the rails to M3x.5 for the caps. Testing with gauge blocks has it right on the money. If for some reason you pull the stainless guards without marking what side the hash marks are on, all they do is line up with the side that actually has the mag strip in the rail. Going through the help sections once the unit is booted up gives a lot of info on the unit and how to use it, in two minutes it showed me how to flip the readings from neg to positive in the direction I wanted it to read. Two year follow up: This DRO is still functioning like the day I got it. No issue's what so ever to report on it. Mine is mounted on a milling machine that is in an unheated or cooled shed, the only thing I have in there is a temp fan that helps pull heat out in the summer so this DRO has been exposed to anywhere from 10 to 100 degree F temps and keeps working.

Works great, took me a while to fabricate brackets for my grizzly mill but the experience was a lot of fun and I learned a lot about my machine. I did make to mount the x and y axis upside down to help keep the scales clean, and the z axis faces away from the cutting also to aid in keeping the scales clean. Very worth and it works as it should!

Overall this has been a fantastic addition and works well. It did include the sensor for RPM but I have not hooked it up, so cannot comment on that. Only issue, and you'll have it with any of these, the instructions take a bit of deciphering from their translation, but not impossible to figure out.

It's as advertised and has improved my machines accuracy over my last DRO with glass scales. The magnetic scales are easily cut to size and the position sensors so not require absolute precision to set up. There is no bracket or reluctor wheel provided for the RPM sensor so that makes setting it up on my machine challenging. I made the a reluctor wheel with four magnets I bought and cut it in half so it could clamp onto the motor output shaft with screws. It works great. As always the print in the manual is small and some of the printed icons are hard to make out but it is decent. I measured around 0.0008 inch accuracy over one inch. I really like this setup and would recommend it to others.

I bought this DRO for my Bridgeport. In the past I always had 2-axis DROs, having one for the Z axis too is really nice. I had to modify and make different mounting brackets (the X axis was tricky in particular) but got it installed and working. Didn't bother with setting up the Hall sensor though, maybe another day. Very satisfied and just ordered one of the 2-axis DROs from same company for my lathe as well.
