I have owned and maintained a modestly sized outdoor fish pond for nearly a decade; and realized pretty quickly that standard tubing is a nightmare because it just floats right to the top. I’m no expert, but I do have experience with just trying to keep the water clear and the fish happy... and this Weighted Aeration Hose made the whole setup so much easier. The big 100-foot roll was plenty for what I needed, and the best part is that it actually sinks right to the bottom without having to use bricks or heavy ties to hold it down. The kit comes with some extra hose clamps and copper menders, which was a nice surprise. The hose itself feels very heavy-duty and thick, but it’s still flexible enough to snake around the bottom of the pond. It’s a simple fix that really helps get the air exactly where it needs to go without looking messy on the surface. PROS Stays Submerged: This is the biggest plus. It’s weighted perfectly, so it "self-sinks" and stays on the bottom exactly where you drop it. Great Length: Having 100 feet in one roll gave me plenty of room to run the line from my pump all the way to the other side of the pond. Included Accessories: It comes with 8 stainless steel clamps and 4 copper menders, which saves a trip to the hardware store if you need to join pieces together. Very Durable: The material feels like it can handle being underwater for a long time without getting brittle or cracking. Kink Resistant: Even though it’s thick, I didn't have any issues with the hose kinking up and blocking the airflow while I was laying it out. CONS Pretty Heavy: This is obviously a benefit and a positive feature. But, if you are Bot accustomed to this high qualityweighted hose, the 100-foot roll is actually quite heavy to move around before you get it in the water. Needs a Strong Pump: Because the hose is thick and 3/8 of an inch wide, you’ll want to make sure your air pump has enough "oomph" to push air through a long stretch of it. Black Color Only: It’s great for hiding on the bottom of a pond, but if you have a very light-colored pool or fountain, the black line might be a little noticeable. FINAL VERDICT: I really love this hose. It is the highest quality aeration hose I have ever owned; and my koi, goldfish and other fish & plants will absolutely benefit from it.

Let me tell you — this 3/8" self‑sinking aeration hose showed up with more confidence and backbone than half the tools in my pond shed. The moment I picked it up, I thought, “Well dang… this thing has some weight to it.” Not the cheap, hollow, “I’m‑going‑to‑float‑away-the-second-you-turn-your-back” kind of hose. No. This one sinks like it knows it belongs at the bottom of a koi pond. My old hose? Brittle. Crusty. Basically the pond‑equipment equivalent of a 90‑year‑old chain smoker. I’ve had it forever, so I can’t complain too much, but this new hose made it look like a dollar‑store jump rope. The kit comes with 4 copper menders and 8 stainless steel clamps, which is great because I always lose clamps the same way people lose socks in the dryer. I do wish it came with a couple of T‑connectors so I could branch off like a pond‑aeration octopus, but hey — that’s what the “add to cart” button is for. Now, here’s where life gets real: I’m going to be moving soon thanks to an eminent domain highway project (because apparently the government wants my house more than I do). Not thrilled about it, but the silver lining is that I get to build a brand‑new koi pond from scratch. And this hose? Oh, it’s coming with me like a loyal sidekick. Our current pond is 4.5 feet deep, 22 ft long, 9 ft wide, and we also have two bogs that are 6 ft by 12 ft long and waterfalls — so trust me, I know what good aeration gear looks like. I used this aeration hose and included adapters to run the water to the additional bathroom we didn’t have plumbing in. So the water line definitely is going to be great for a pond when it worked this well for home plumbing! Maintains very good water pressure and stream, is quite flexible as compared to other options. The price point may not be suitable for my use method to most people but my situation was also a bit unique. It includes several connectors and clamps for this hose. It’s basically like a very heavy duty water hose material and black service line hybrid. It’s a great product whether it’s for your outdoor fishpond, or you want something like this for a good reason to plumb a residential bathroom/kitchen. I suggest you seal your adaptation to other types of line with heat and glue and let it cure the proper amount of time. If using in q pond you will want to bury it underground and let it remain a slow drip when below freezing. I’ve only had this installed above freezing temps but i had zero issues getting it adapted and running. The packaging is great, I personally like the flexibility of the material and it is made very well so I highly doubt the longevity of the product to be an issue. After I measured the line it actually is closer to 1/2” line OD and 3/8” ID

This is a decent weighted hose. It feels reasonably durable. It has more heft than a normal hose, and should sink well under normal use. There is a bit of a smell to it and I want to flush it out before putting it into use. I'd say it smells a bit like car tires. They include 4 connectors and hose clamps to go with them. Other than the smell, this is a decent hose. The price seems reasonable.

This is great housing, very heavy, so it is definitely going to sink right down when you put it in your pond. The housing seems nice and thick. It seems to be of very good quality. The attachments are copper. They are very nice and sturdy. They fit perfectly. It comes with everything you need to place it right out of the box so you’re not going to need to go and get anything. It’s got lots of nice clamps and fittings and all at an excellent price. This is a really good price for the quality and as much as you’re going to get of this housing definitely would recommend this.

Maybe for a different areation system. I have a Gast Rotary vane air pump and hose burst at pump outlet within 30 minutes. Was issued no question refund.

I couldn’t be happier with this 3/8 Inch Self Sinking Aeration Hose kit—it exceeded my expectations in every way.
