I have a "water resistant" bluetooth speaker from EcoXgear: EcoPebble. It stopped working recently. I had not checked it for a few months and when I tried to recharge, it just showed that it was fully charged, but wont turn on. I thought maybe it was the battery. Not being an experienced electrician or electronics person, I chose to open it up anyways since it was out of warranty. Good thing! I noticed quite a bit of rust inside esp in the screws holding the electronic boards to the plastic housing. I unscrewed, located the battery, read the # on the outer surface and ordered this one as a replacement. It arrived in a couple of days. I checked to see the polarity of the new & old batteries matched and plugged it in. It turned on the power LED immediately. Then I let it charge overnight. I then proceeded to test the unit while it was still open and unscrewed to ensure everything was working well. When confirmed everything was fine, I proceeded to put it all together after wiping down the components and the rust. I then taped it with electrical tape on the joints, added more waterproofing than was there previously and sealed the housing. Now it is almost as good as new, maybe better because of the waterproofing. I cant speak for the longevity of the battery or how long it will hold a charge. I dont expect too much for this price anyways. ... show more

I'm an experienced Electronic Technician. I was rebuilding a Bluetooth Smart speaker. I knew the battery was bad. I found this replacement and installed it without checking the polarity but who checks this on a simple remove and replacement. You assume the product was quality checked prior to shipping. I installed the battery and turned it on. The unit didn't work so I knew it was a defective battery. I saw it unit powered up but just didn't function properly. I removed the battery and compared it with the old battery. See attached picture. The leads were reversed. I simply reversed the leads and the speaker powered up just fine. I'm guessing a person performing a battery replacement at this level must have a little experience with an understanding of polarity. For me this is not a big issue.
