I cleaned the sharp edges and casting flash on it a little with a file, added another washer to the screw handle, and lapped any of the machined surfaces a bit smoother. Little grease, and this thing is incredible. Smooth, solid as a rock, holds extremely well. Give it a little fine tuning, and you won't be at it at any price. Perfect for sharpening chainsaws, mower blades, axes, & such. 👍👍

I was stunned from the quality of the vice for the price, I got it for small projects and little tinkering. I use it all the time now woodworking etc. it came with rubber type guards for the clamp and for the vice so you don’t scuff important things you work on. Also swivels so you can use it whatever way you need.

This is a very nicely made, versatile, and easily movable vice that is great for stabilizing items for smaller projects. It does what you’d expect and need for a non-permanently mounted table/bench vise. It opens/closes smoothly and is easily rotated. It’s heavy as it should be but not quite as beefy as most regular mounted bench vices are, therefore it wouldn’t be the best choice for really hammering on something, though your bench will probably give out before this vise does. It’s an excellent value for the $$.
