I really appreciate these mats as they fit perfectly on top of my washing machine and prevent scratches on the surface. However, I couldn't use them right away due to a strong chemical smell that required several days of airing out.     • Doesn't Fit Exactly- Strange Chemical/Rubber Smell

I got these to protect the top of my washer and dryer. I don't have the front load type washer, but still thought this would be good to protect the machine and cover it from dust with the only caveat being I have to remove it when it is time to wash clothes. I didn't measure- so I can't complain- but I do want to encourage any potential customers to do so to get a more exact fit for your machines. The covers do not fit my machines all that well. They still basically achieve the purpose, just leaving some of the sides uncovered- but it would be nice if they fit more closely. The bottom is a non-slip rubber while the top is made of a fabric. They do the job of basically protecting the tops of the machines from crates when I am setting things on them. I will say they covers have a really strong rubber/chemical smell. I put them on and then closed the laundry room door only to find it smelled pretty strong the next day. They seem to be airing out over the past week- but I took one star away for the smell. Someone who is sensitive may have a problem. Overall not a bad product if you are sure to measure and give them time to air out. ... show more
