It was hard to diagnose the faulty component on my dryer since the gas would light for 5 to 10 mins but stop thereafter. The old parts would in fact pass the volt meter test too! The issue was my old ones were 'weak' and would stop working after the heat. So if you are not sure why you have intermittent heat, try these, especially since the cost is rather low and it is easy to unplug and replace. I have a Whirlpool Duet Steam. 11+ years old.

My Maytag gas dryer developed an issue where it would work when cold, but after a single heat cycle the flame would stop working. I measured the resistance of the two gas solenoid coils, and found that the main coil (with three contacts) had an open on the center leg when hot, but continuity when cold. Aha, bad coil. I ordered a replacement coil set from another "Blue" parts supplier on Amazon, and the secondary coil (the one with two contacts) wouldn't fit over the solenoid shaft. The main coil (my bad one) did fit, however, so I installed it. Again, when my dryer was cold, the flame would come on, but when hot there was no flame anymore, and a loud buzzing sound could be heard. After loads of troubleshooting and thinking that I may have to buy an expensive burner assembly, I tried another coil set, this set. Viola! Both new coils fit the solenoid shafts properly, and my dryer heat now cycles normally. The previous coil set (which cost a bit more than these) were junk. I highly recommend DR replacement parts based on this experience.

My magtag dryer quit heating a couple of weeks ago. My husband who is very handy, thank goodness, was able to diagnose that it was this part. He was able to open the dryer door and easily install the part into the dryer. After installation, it was time to test if it would work. I had my fingers crossed! We started it up and it if oted and kept running and heating the dryer! I was so happy. We had tried another part before and it didn't work. It has been a couple of days now and still working like a champ. You just can't beat those old Maytag. The part shipped very quickly. We also received it very quickly as well. I just had to wait for my husband to install it. I would definitely purchase this item again. The description on the order was very good and I was able to find that this particular part worked for my specific dryer. It fit perfectly! I was worried about what the price would be since my dryer is at least 25 years old ( have I mentioned that the old washer and dryers are the best?). Anyway we found this part and to my surprise, it was under $10, and we got 2 of them! I am so thankful for a handy husband, and for this inexpensive part that fixed us right back up and I am again able to dry all this laundry! Thank you!!

I am satisfied with the product but dissatisfied with the Amazon driver who delivered the package. I left special instructions to open storm door and leave on porch and it was left on step with the possibility of being stolen.

We have a 20+ year old Maytag Neptune with the drying cabinet. It was really expensive back then, and it turns out they aren't made anymore and are pretty rare. To make it more fun, we converted it from gas to propane when we moved to our home with no gas service. So, when it slowly stopped drying our clothes, we were worried we'd have to replace it with something not nearly as functional. My husband took it apart and started doing internet research. Apparently, these are known to commonly fail. Rating installation on this is tricky. Getting to the part turned out to be easy on our dryer, as the assembly is right in front, but some models require removing the drum and/or are hard to reach. Once you are in the right spot, it's two screws to remove the cage, pull out the old and pop in the new. These are just like the OEM parts, except for having no printing on them, but they fit fine, and, more importantly, they work!
