I purchased these holders because I like to burn incense throughout my home, but I hate when the ashes fall off the ash catcher. This was a solution for that. The ashes are contained. I just empty out the holder before I light my next incense. I will be purchasing another set.

No, I would NOT recommend. Was trying to find a no mess holder for my incense. Tried this. I did use joss style sticks. This design is simply OK for joss sticks. To make this style holder better, it should really be about 1 to 1.5 inches deep. Being made of wood and way too shallow in current design, the top/lip is really taking heat damage. Not burning but you can see after just FIVE days of use the tar and darkening of wood inside on lid. If this was 1 to 1.5 inches deep you would totally avoid that. Side note, I did buy a different brand made of metal. I definitely prefer that over the wood one. But metal version is 2x the cost. ... show more

Love this!! The mess stays contained! I was hesitant at first to lay a smoking scent stick in there because you lay it on the felt! That scared me at first. It I’ve burned hundreds and it’s done great! I would recommend this to anyone who’s tired of the ash mess.

    • Burn one stick at a time.
This censer works surprisingly well. Just don't burn more than one stick of incense at a time. Burning two produces enough heat to scorch the bamboo.

I placed an order for these. I love how they look and in my house we use these like crazy. Sadly i never received. Hope i can attempt to get these again cause i would like to enjoy them
