These worked out perfectly for our backyard. They were super easy to build, I was even able to let the kids help me. The paint was a little dried out but I just used a paper plate like a pallet and added water.

My kids painted these with their grandpa one afternoon. They were a little time consuming to put together and one of the glues was stuck and ended up exploding and got all over my daughter so that was unfortunate. But honestly, if she had just waited for help we could have helped her unstuck it. But if you do get this, make sure you check that your glue isn't super clogged. They are cute. They are on the smaller side. The top is the part that can come on and off easily to empty out at the end of season. There's nothing super fancy about these but also nothing really wrong with them. They're a good craft thing

Real solid cedar wood components with all the fasteners (plus extras) needed to put them together and two full sets of paint and brushes per birdhouse. Great project to work with my 2-year-old granddaughter. One to leave here and one to take home with her. The resulting houses are obviously neither huge nor meant to last forever outside without some added weatherproofing. However, great value for the price and lots of fun. In our case, I elected to use some higher end waterproof wood glue and exterior deck stain rather than the included paints for the finish to ensure they will last for a while outside. I also reinforced the roof joints with some scrap wood and clamped them while drying to ensure they remained at 45 degrees and would fit nice and tight. As an inadvertent test, one easily survived a 4-foot fall onto a concrete floor with no problem. The chain holes in the roof line up right over the front and back walls. Thus, I slightly widened the holes to outside to allow attaching the chain outside rather than inside the house per the instructions. Using a vise to steady the pieces during nailing and gluing eased the process but wouldn't be necessary. In summary, great inexpensive fun!
