  • Works great for me
I don't understand why so many negative reviews about the install. Yes, it's a bit laborsome to install, but you shouldn't judge the product based on you not wanting to go through the steps that are clearly explained. I've had the same two screen protectors from the kit since October 2022. I finally am starting to get a little bit of cracking on the edges of my 2nd one. so I'm going to buy another kit because I think that's a good amount of coverage for how much use my phone gets and how many times it's dropped. As far as the fingerprint detection, I have noticed lately that it seems to be requiring a lot of attempts . I don't know if that's the cover or my fingerprint app on the phone. I wish they sold just replacement screens and not just the whole kit, but that's my only complaint. ... show more

  • Fingerprint reader works 1 out of 10 times
6 Month Review: Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra My original review is as stands but now I just want to add a durability rating. 1 out of 10. Save your money for all the reasons I listed in my original review and one more... durability. I've owned a lot of cell phones over the years and I've never had one last only six months. Mine is cracked thru in several places and the top right corner is busted up. A one inch long splinter from that corner stabbed into my index finger when I reached into my pocket yesterday....hurt like hell. I guess you could argue that it did its job and protected my phone. I've owned a lot of phones over the years - dating back to buying my first one in 1994 and the first iPhone in 2007. I always had a screen protector on them but I've never once had one not last at least a year. My wife has the same screen protector on her phone and she's way gentler than I am and she wants her screen replaced also. Original Review: First off, I'd like to say the screen looks gorgeous. Seems to be made of durable material that would do a great job of protecting the screen. I have the feeling that the glue that binds the protector to the glass isn't coming off. I was very satisfied on how the screen looked after completing installation. Now comes the bad part. The install can be deceivingly trickier than it looks on Youtube. I found a great video on how to do the install step by step. Laid everything out in front of me just as the video did. I even did this right in front of my computer so I could pause it as I went through. Miss one step.......and you're probably SOL (Sh_t Outta Luck) as I was the first time. Everything was going well enough during the install until I got to the point where you put the protector on. You're suppose to drop the protector onto the tab that holds the protector just above the phone screen, pull the tab out so the screen drops onto the phone screen and push on the bottom of the fixture until the glue gets to a pre-marked spot in the middle of the phone then release the bottom and watch the glue spread evenly.....voila easy as that I guess (just make sure you're on level surface which mine was). Now here's what I did. I put the protector underneath the tab and dropped it right onto the screen and then pressed onto the bottom of the fixture. Don't do that........make sure you drop it onto the tab and not directly onto the screen. Not good - the glue didn't evenly spread throughout the screen. The video was good and the guy explaining everything was good too. Just don't miss any step - and I mean any! 2nd time was the charm and when I got done I felt like I had found my new go to screen for every phone I get in the future. Until............read on. The fingerprint reader doesn't work well. Yes I deleted my old fingerprint from the phone and redid the biometrics process of putting them back in with the screen protector on. Which that in itself was difficult because the phone wouldn't read my fingerprint. I will say it's not the phone because before the screen protector was on there the fingerprint reader worked flawlessly.....and when I mean flawlessly - it was the best fingerprint I've ever had. It'll only effectively work if I lick my thumb and then try it 3-4 times. Seriously - who the hell is going to that? Here's a little breakdown on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being best) of what I think of this product. Looks= 10 Glue= 10 Clarity of screen= 10 Ease of installation= 2 Fingerprint reader= 1 Value for money= 1 Overall rating= 3 Conclusion: If you don't really care about the fingerprint reader then this is a great screen to have on your phone. Clearly I do place a high value on my fingerprint reader by my review. The other thing to note is I paid $39.99 (Amazon) for this and that seems very pricey to not having everything working as it should. ... show more

  • Definitely high quality product. This is how I got mine to read my fingerprint
This is so much easier than the OG of screen protectors. Having so many issues with the OG screen protectors, I stopped using them until my iPhone 13 got scratches and then decided to explore them again. I would buy this brand again for my other future phones. Delivers potentially flawless results. I watched a lot of Youtube reviewers (Jabber Tech, EBMann Reviews, Ur AvgConsumer, etc..) and also gained insight from Android Central's article about fingerprint sensor and Reddit. First time, I did, the results were frustrating. The screen protector went on flawless but, the fingerprint reader had many issues. I was determined not to bother and just do without one. The next time, I was better prepared 24 hours later after I used Youtube and Reddit some more to gain insights. Here is what I did. Powered down the phone and made sure the display was cool. After applying do initial process of 15 seconds front, middle and back using UV light. Remove phone from cradle. Leave tape on sides but clean off excessive adhesive. Press and hold where the fingerprint sensor was for 90 seconds. No need to press like you are going through to the bottom of the phone just apply enough force to squish the adhesive. Press and hold five more times. Just press and release and not hold for 90 seconds. Do top and bottom 60 seconds using the UV light. Press where fingerprint sensor is few more times using press and release. Do top and bottom 60 seconds using UV light. Press where fingerprint sensor is press and release a few more times. Leave phone off for the next 60 minutes and every 15 minutes go back and press and hold where fingerprint sensor is a few more times. Power phone back on. Fingerprint might still have issues. Go to settings and select Add Fingerprint and go through process. Might be awkward to get it to register so be patient and use edges of thumbs, center and top to get through it. Try it again. Might still be awkward but be patient. About an hour later it magically worked. Oddly enough, licking my thumb or breathing on my thumb makes it work when it has issues. 24 hours later and all seems to be working fine. I had registered my left and right thumbs and right index finger before I had applied the screen protector. I only redid my right thumb after I applied the screen protector. As of now, all the fingers that I had registered before and after the application all work. When it stumbles I just breath on my finger or lick it and it works flawlessly. I will update if things change but so far so good. ... show more
