This hepside LED Flush Mount Ceiling Light, 12 inches was really simple to install. It has a black and white wire but no ground wire. If you need to hang it, it also comes with a thin metal hook but the ideal scenario is using the provided screws and putting onto your electrical box. I do think the wires could have used a little more bare wire, and I did strip another quarter inch off each one so it was easier for me to connect to my existing wires. I also like how there is a physical switch located inside the light to choose which color temperature you want, and if you ever need to change it, you just get on a stool, untwist the light, change the switch and you're good to go. The low profile is perfect for my garage where there's limited ceiling space from my garage door and opener. I hope this LED light lasts a few years. ... show more

This should be simple to install, and in 95% of the houses it will be, but our contractor did not put a box in the ceiling so I had to put in a box, and even that had some issues, but once the box was in, it was pretty easy to install the light. Make sure you note the lumens it puts out, it is equivalent to 2 150 watt incandescent bulbs. I replaces two florescent bulbs with this small beast. All this light for 24 watts. It is so narrow it looks like it is recessed. It is also so bright you really don't want to look at it without sunglasses. Ok, I am laughing about the light, but our kitchen needed this. One bulb would have been too little. But, I may still put this on a dimmer switch, we will wait and see. There are 5 different white light settings, make sure you set them before attaching the light to the ceiling, it isn't hard to attach/detach but easier not to have to get on a ladder again and detach it. ... show more

Very bright, and a great upgrade to the dual 10W equivalent LED lamp fixture that had been in the pantry. The 6,500K color temperature shows the labels and items in the pantry clearly, and I like being able to choose a softer light if it would be more aesthetically pleasing. The light could have been too bright for this pantry, if the ceiling wasn't about 10 foot tall though. The light fixture was easy to install, although I was using the old electrical box and screws to attach the new baseplate. The tether was very handy, allowing me to hang the light fixture from the baseplate, so I'd have two hands free to finish the wiring. The instructions aren't great, but this at least as easy as other light fixture replacements. I don't have this light fixture on a dimmable switch, so I wasn't able to test that capability. This light fixture should be a good choice for many applications, with the low-weight fixture, relatively flush profile, uniform light distribution (no LED lamps observed through the lens), choice of color temperature, long projected life, water resistance, and dimmability. I have this older high quality ceiling fan that had a not so bright light with three chandelier bulbs and frosted glass diffuser. Not much light and kinda pain to replace bulbs. So took it apart and removed all the chandelier bulb stuff down to the cover on the electric wires and using couple self tapping screws, screwed the center plate of this light to that cover. Hooked up wires. Ok it was an experiment, but pretty successful one. This light is very light weight and very bright. I now have actual serious light in the "breakfast nook". Its fine in winter when really only wanting to use the light as I pull chain to turn off fan then just switch light on and off with wall switch. I will have to go back and install some kind switch for this light on the fan, so I can run fan via the wall switch without the light on. Should mention this light has the little recessed area for wires if you are mounting to flat surface and not to a junction box. Thats nice. I personally prefer these round flat LED ceiling lights to using an LED screw in bulb. No idea how long they last yet. ... show more

I got this light for my closet and it does produce plenty of soft light. It isn't and weighs almost nothing compared to your typical light fixtures. There isn't space for wire nuts so you should have it attached to an electric box. I moved the light location so it would have been nice if this had it's own box. Other than that it was a real easy install. I like that you can select the light temperature however the 3000k color has a bit of a red hue which bothers me so I have it set at 3500k but at that it's a tad cooler than my other lights that are around 3000-3200k. There is also a faint but noticeable flicker to the light. In my closet I don't care but I could never have this light anywhere else as that would really bother me. ... show more
