So far these drill bits are very good. I drilled three 5/16 holes in a three-quarter inch piece of Steel and it did drill the hole every time but the third time the drill bit seemed a little dull but not bad at all. I didn't hear any squeaking and just had to push a little harder on the drill press handle. They work really good with a smooth cut and they are made of very hard Steel. I used cutting oil and I only put about 10 pounds of pressure on the 5/16. I would definitely recommend these bits. You can always resharpen them. ... show more

This product is not good at all. It is definitely not meant for hardened metal like advertised. The bits burn way too easily the moment you try to use them on anything tough, and they are completely not worth the money. Save your cash and look for something that actually performs up to its claims.

these are ok for occasional use. the previous iteration of this kit was much better. 2 things: 1) the bits are very short. one small bore bit broke off inside the work. 2) the case is the absolute cheapest, cheesiest useless ever.

I needed an inexpensive set of small cobalt bits to take with me to help a friend who lives across state. They had an exterior commercial steel door that was frozen shut. After cutting off the hinges, I needed to drill out 24 stainless steel screws. I had considered this set of bits to be disposable and hoped to make it through the 24 screws using several of the included bits. I had no lubricant available to ease the drilling. The single drill bit that I used cut through the stainless screws--dry, mind you--like I was drilling in aluminum. The bit never even got hot. I have some very high-dollar cobalt bits and these inexpensive bits performed way better than they had any right to. I recommend them most highly! ... show more
