I am quite impressed with this pump. I think it is head and shoulders better than most of the pumps for fish ponds you will find in stores. I would not say it is as good as my Lim Wave pump that has worked for 20 years, but it is close and for 20% of the price. (And the current Lim Pumps have shorter cords which can be a issue with placement, though my 20 year old pump came with a long cord like this "no name" pump has.) At any rate, you should know the gallons per hour rating is based on no head or height change, so a nominal 2700 gallon per hour pump like this one is about right for a 1000 to 2000 gallon pond, once you factor in the height and resistance from tubing and turns, etc. I found the mesh bag while you can't seal it perfectly, definitely helps keep weeds and debris from clogging the pump. The outlet being adjustable is a helpful feature too. It is easy to take apart and clean, and surprisingly, the instruction manual had pretty clear and correct English. The suction cup feet was able to hold the pump in place, though I would not depend on them long term. Your tubing will generally do most of the work to hold the pump in place, but even without tubing, the feet held against the force of the water being shot out. You are also able to remove the inlet cover and connect the inlet to large tubing feeding from a filter. On the whole, just seems to be a great design and good quality. Time will tell how long it will last. That is the only important variable I can't comment on, but I suspect it will be a good pump for many years. In the past, before I got my Wave pump, the cheaper pumps only lasted about a year. I expect this pump to exceed that standard by a lot.

We have a large fish pond which benefits from aeration. This pump works perfectly. At just 6 lbs., it was easy to carry to our pond and install. It comes with adapters so that we can use different sized tubing. It also has suction cups should one wish to place it on a hard service out of the water (we, however, are submerging ours). The included mesh bag is a very handy feature, preventing the intake of leaves and other debris. Our power source is a bit of distance from the pond so the 20 foot long power cord is great. The pump is powerful and yet quiet ... we enjoy sitting near the pond and the pump didn't disturb us at all. It is energy-efficient which is important to us. The adjustable water flow is a very nice feature ... we're able to direct the water to where we want it. The unit is easy to clean. It was easy to set up but, should one need them, also comes with instructions. All in all, I think this is an excellent pump at a very fair price. I recommend it!

I have a backyard pond that had got quite nasty with green algae due to a long heatwave. Once I took care of that using a UV with one of my in pond pump and filters, I was left with dead brown gunk. UV kills off the green algae but it goes brown once it's dead. I did not want to use my two pump sets in my filters to drain the pond to finish cleaning it as I was afraid of clogging them up beyond repair. I was also tired of cleaning and replacing filter pads every week on the two of them. So I decided I needed to just drain the pond and start over. I was able to accomplish that with the use of this pump. Once the water was getting too low, I kept adding more to stir up and help remove as much of the muck in the bottom as possible, which was nearly all of it. I cleaned out the pump several times during this process just to hopefully keep it in good condition. It did the job well, and I did a final cleaning on it and put it away for future use it needed.

I got this pump to be part of a Stock Tank pool system, but in the end due to how versatile it is and how well it will attach to different sized hoses, I think I'm going to re-purpose this into a pump for a DIY waterfall-style paint booth. It is fairly quiet so using it indoors won't be a problem, and if you are going to set it on a hard surface it features suction cup feet to ensure it won't move around. However, I note that the pump has very little vibration, which is an issue sometimes with pumps and motors, so this thing should stay put. Based on the input/output data shown in the manual that comes with the pump, it should move enough water to do what I need. You can't tell from this photo, but the front filter guard can come off and it comes with attachments for both the inlet and outlet to attach various sized hoses and hose clamps. I may order another one now for my Stock Tank Pool project!

I have this installed in my small yard fountain/pond waterfall setup and even with the most restrictive 3/4" hose to the waterfall feature this thing pushes a LOT of water and with No pump noise. They include 2 stepped hose barb adapters you can cut to the correct size for your application as well as a couple stainless hose clamps and suction cups for feet if one wants to use them along with a large black mesh bag with a draw string which serves 2 functions, one it acts as a course filter and two, it helps hide the pump from being visible at the bottom of the pond/fountain. This pump uses less than 2 amps while running. It is heavy and reminds me of some much more expensive pumps Ive owned.

Being new to pond maintenance, we had 2 previous pumps that were good, but not what we were after.This Tongchant pump ticks all the boxes. It moves enough water that impacts the pond aeration. It moves enough water to have a water fall that isn't gushing and washing out landscaping, but at the same time actually moves the water so it's more than a trickle! it's not horribly loud. We could talk next to it and be heard without raising our voice. The output nozzle angle is easily adjusted. We do plant to put it inside a mesh pond pump bag to try and keep more debris off it. It's a nice well made quiet pump that I hope to last us a good long while. It's a great value and we wouldn't hesitate to purchase from Tongchant again!
