I’ve dunked them in both fresh and saltwater, and they’ve shrugged off rust like it’s beneath them. This kit is a good assortment of speed clips, however, these are much larger than I expected. The manufacturer's description says these are good for trout, perch, etc..... these are certainly much (much) larger than what would typically be used for trout or perch. The smallest size in the kit is larger than the size 0 that I would typically use for bass but it is somewhat comparable. The rest of the kit looks to be oriented to larger fish such as catfish or saltwater fishing, and they sure are heavy duty. Overall they are robust and the speed clip is much more convenient than the snap swivel design but they are certainly oversize (which is why I rated them 3 stars). I would love to see these in a smaller size that would be more suitable for trout, e.g. something like a Cabela's size 20 barrel snap swivel.

This is a great collection of the 3 most used sizes of “Speed Clips” that will cover everything from Bass Angling in freshwater ponds and lakes to saltwater fishing from piers and beaches. These little clips are very strong and work great. Saves a lot of time when trying to find the right lure and/or color combination. I like using these speed clips instead of using a full snap swivel when fishing at heavily pressured waters were the less visible terminal tackle the better. These clips are great for getting the full action out of your lures presentation.
