    • Nice portable fire pit
This is a nice portable fire pit. I say portable, since it is not that big, and is not made of stone, so you can take it with you, if you so choose. I got this mainly because I have been debating on building a fire pit in my back yard, and rather than spend the time and effort of building one, I wanted to make sure that it was something my family would actually enjoy first. This went together easily. Directions are straight forward, and the pieces are well machined. I did not notice any major problems with the various pieces, and it went together relatively quickly. My only complaint, is that the metal could be a bit more thick. Other than that one complaint, which isn't that major, as it has held up to a few test burns (it is still winter where I live, and it has been raining a lot recently). The addition of the cooking grate is nice, because it can serve multiple purposes. I am hoping my wife will use it to grill her fish, rather than using my smoker. I am allergic to seafood, so after she grills her fish, I need to take precautions for obvious reasons. ... show more

    • much bigger than i originally thought from the photo! i love it
this is fire pit is such a nice addition to my yard. my home has an irregularly shaped lot that comes to an incredibly awkward long & borderline completely useless triangular point in the FRONT yard that makes up the majority of what my township considers to be "usable space" / my only hope of curb appeal. coupled with the fact that it is on a grade & we are a row home & the first in our row that is situated almost in a vertical row rather than the usual horizontal layout of homes, so from the street, we look like a single home & my yard is the main view that passerbys get. there was a makeshift fire pit there to make some use of the space... i replaced it with this one & it bring such a nicer look to the front of my home. its much bigger than the listing appeared to be. good quality craftsmanship & very easy to put together. comes with a poker & a grill grate. perfect for marshmellows & such ... show more

I takes about 40 minutes to assemble if you are good at assembling things. I had probably about an hour in the assembly because per the instructions: 1. The clips that hold the grille and spark screen in place sit almost even with the top of the ring. 2. If installed like this the lid (spark screen) will slide off the fire pit with just a little midge. Even without the grille installed, the lid ( In my opinion) will not stay safely in place. That being said, it is a nice fire pit for the money. There is a fairly easy fix: All that needs to be done is to turn the 4 clips over (180 Degrees). This is shown in the first picture. However, this creates another problem. If you look closely, this leaves too much of the bolt protruding and with all 4 clips installed in this manor, you cannot get the grille to sit down on the clips. You can do one of two things: 1. Picture #2 shows an alternative to cutting some of the bolt off. If you look closely, I have taken the attaching nut with the flat washer turned facing toward the fire pit and screwed on to the ring bolt And then acquire more nuts from the hardware if you don't have access to any at home. If you do have to go to the hardware, be sure to take one of the ring bolts with you for sizing, I believe metric. Do this with all 4 ring bolts or if you want, just do it with two ring bolts side by side and do this. 2. Picture #4 shows the grille tilted and slid under the two bolts that protrude past the nut and the grill will then sit down on all 4 tabs shown in Picture #5. 3. Picture #3 shows the spark screen sitting much better (and in my opinion) safer with the changes and grille in place. You will notice in this picture, the spark screen does not sit on the grille, but does sit much lower, making it less likely to slide off the fire pit. ... show more

    • Great looking fire pit
I am very happy with this fire pit. I put it together by myself. And while it did take me a little longer than it would have with someone helping, I did get it done. The instructions were very clear and I had no problem understanding them each step of the way. Can’t wait to have a cozy fire outside. Now I’m just need to decide where I am going to put it in my yard. I plan on laying some flat rocks for it to sit on and then install some big rocks around it. This firepit comes unassembled with all of the components included and instructions. There is an exact amount of hardware, so be careful not to lose any screws/bolts during assembly. The instructions are clear and well written/drawn. You do need a Phillips head screwdriver/electric screwdriver (gave up and switched to electric halfway through) and possibly a wrench to hold the bolts when tightening. It took me about 1 hour to unpack and assemble mostly by myself until the end when I needed a second person to help with attaching the top ring. It's a bit tricky to line up the side attachments and the upper ring, and you need to make sure and install the opposite sides, then the other sides without tightening the screws until the end. The assembled firepit is an excellent design, with tons of airflow, and brackets to hold the grill and top. There is also a fireplace poker/lid lifter included. Overall, this is a very good quality firepit and a far superior replacement to the old one I had. ... show more
