Works well keeping water from freezing but it will work better in a deeper birdbath since the de-icer needs to be fully covered with water. It is very durable with a very long cord length of 9 feet.

This product is either very poor or defective. Either way it doesn’t suit my needs. I have a small pond that is approximately 10 gallons that this hot heater cannot keep ice free. This is not what I envisioned when I purchased the product. I didn’t expect a half inch of ice less than a day after 60° weather.

This states it keeps 25 gallons melted....um, nope! We have it in a tiny duck pool, maybe 20 gallons. Frozen solid except for a small hole at the top where they can't get water out of anyway. Very disappointed.
