Just starting free weights and I didn't want a room full of weights. My very fit SIL has something similar but $100's of dollars more expensive (and heavier). This was a great buy, easy to use, pretty to look at, and most importantly, easy to switch weights, and very easy to track progress. The only downside is that soon I'm going to 'outgrow' them and need more than 25lbs per side. But that's a good problem to have, as I started at 5lbs. So they've done what they should.

These go up in 10lb increments. I have tried to utilize them in 5lb increments,, but I wouldn't advise it, it's so temperamental. They are solid and have fallen on the concrete once but only lost 1 screw. So very durable. They stay together very well during use, and slide back into the whole rather smoothly, unless I'm exhausted after a set. Then I need to set them down and replace them when I have recovered. The base plate is crucial! And works very well.

Favorite features. Lay dumbbell on plate. Simply twist handle to the weight you need. Lift and the plate weight automatically has switched. For the price of $149, compared to many that were nearly $200 - $250, this is a good value and nice quality.

I give the product 5 stars it was everything that was promised. Had a lot of difficulty though with FedEx which is not the shippers fault. Had I not run down the truck and had the driver look my package would have been in limbo forever. Someone at the warehouse didnt scan part of the order so though it said on the truck the driver didnt know it was there until he looked. I give the driver 5 stars for helping but FedEx itself a 0 for their no help.
