  • Good pack but color is wrong
Color: Coyote Brown
This pack is of good quality as most of the reviews indicate. The main reason I'm leaving a review is to let everyone know that the color shown for coyote brown, which I ordered, is not at all close to the color I was sent. The one I received was a basic light tan. Not a hint of brown more than that. As of the time of writing this review they have completely removed tan as a color option but I think they mistakenly removed the wrong color and probably meant to remove the brown one. Anyway, I'm pretty annoyed as I did not want tan. I'd remove more stars but that isn't fair to the actual quality, which is the most important factor. ... show more

  • Extremely useful
Color: Od Green
I love this backpack and wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I got it to hold my camera gear and a few essentials (like a change of clothing) when I travel and it is great. I had some leftover foam from redoing some chairs so I cut that to fit my equipment as padding, so the bag can hold even my 800mm lens, and it was a lot cheaper than the bags/backpacks made for camera gear. There are a bunch of pockets: 1 large/main compartment with a padded place to hold either a tablet or laptop; a second, slimmer compartment; and then two smaller compartments on the front (one at the top and one, larger one at the bottom). In addition, there is another zippered compartment in the back that is slim but very useful for things like travel documents and/or maps. I put a bit of padding in the main compartment, which is where I store my camera and lenses. The bag has some padding already, but I use the foam to keep the camera and lenses separated and protected. I use the second main compartment for clothing (or whatever), and then the two front pouches contain things like batteries, cables, memory cards, etc. THe botttom small pouch (and it isn't all that small, after all) is padded, so I'm comfortable putting things like my Kindle inside that pocket--it fits fine and has the pouch padding to protect it. Inside the main compartment is another pocket which could be used to hold an MP3 player as there is a small, flap-covered opening directly above it for use with wired headphones/buds. There are additional small pockets inside the other compartments, so with all the straps, etc, you can pretty much attach/bring along, anything you desire. Note: There is no side pocket for a water bottle, but I have a reusable water bottle with a loop so I just attach it to one of the straps and then tuck it beneath some of the side straps so that it doesn't swing around too much when I'm walking and that works just fine. On the other side, I attach my tripod in a similar fashion, i.e. secure it to the top loop with a small bungee, and then tuck the tripod under the side straps to keep it from swinging around when I walk--that works for me. Your mileage may differ. The small, topmost pouch also has the "fuzzy side" of velcro on the front, so if you have gear that has the hook side of velcro on it, you can attach it in that area--there is also a bit of elastic looped through that area so that anything attached with velcro can be further secured under the elastic. Because the gear can be heavy when the bag contains everything, I especially like the fact that there is both a chest strap and a waist strap to keep the padded shoulder straps in place and more evenly distribute the weight. The bag is therefore super easy and comfortable to carry, despite the weight. There are numerous straps that can be used with clips to carry more gear, as well. Overall, the bag seems to be very well made. The reverse side of the canvas has a rubbery coating to help make the bag water resistant. Since the zippers aren't covered by flaps, I wouldn't rely on the bag to be waterproof, per se, but it is certainly better protected than many bags I've used in the past. It works as a travel bag/camera bag for me and fits under a seat on the airlines. For me, it has been the perfect solution without costing the earth, and it's more flexible than a standard camera bag. When I don't want my camera gear with me (which is almost never, but still...) then it works as a good travel bag and can hold several days' worth of clothing and necessities. It is great for camping/hiking because I can set it on the damp ground and not worry about getting my clothing or other stuff wet thanks to the rubbery coating on the reverse side of the canvas. Frankly, this is the most useful thing I own at the moment. ... show more

  • Great pack.
Color: Ranger Green
Lots of versatility both inside and on the exterior of the pack to fit oneโ€™s needs or load out requirements. There are other additional pockets inside some of the other compartments for quick access to small but important items so you donโ€™t have to dig through your kit. The variety for setup gives you countless options. I have the largest compartment loaded with environment protection (heat generation and heat retention w/water bladder). Second compartment has water purification and ration biscuits. Smaller compartments have my navigation kit and supplemental kits. The Molle system allows for my Med kit being response ready, it allowed for easy addition of a shoulder strap bag being connected for chest accessibility of COMs and other quick access items like a flash light and spare clips for my firearm. The strapping on the bottom allows me to snug in my rolled up poncho liner as the bulkiest thing being in my load out being outside the bag. Straps on the side allowed for connection of a small survival axe on one side and my auxiliary survival knife on the other side, again keeping items I need more often at hand at all times. All around, super versatile bag with limitless set up options. The ease of quick access to items helps reduce the weight and the need of other survival gear like a tac vest if thatโ€™s a consideration that one might have. Also, as Active Duty Military for the last 23 years and counting Iโ€™m more than happy to support a Veteran run company. ... show more

  • Well made
Color: Ranger Green
This was the best backpack for the value I could find for an American based company. Super durable and comfortable for carrying a lot. I do wish some of the smaller outer pockets were deeper but that is a small complaint considering the overall product.

  • Bugout/tactical bag
Color: Black
Nice sized backpack. Well built and adjustable for size. I thought there were more molle attachment points on top back and sides instead of so many cinch straps. I think items fastened by cinch straps work loose and slip out under regular use.

  • Awesome High Quality Backpack
Color: Camo
I purchased this backpack for my middle schooler and he loves it. I love the quality, it really feels and looks like it will last.

  • Another excellent value...
Color: Ranger Green
I think I'm late to the party, these guys rock with the quality versus price. Not everyone can afford to spend $300 on a bag. The minute you pick up this product you know you made a good choice. Finished perfectly, I'm seeing that Tacticon products are some of the most viable alternatives that can compare at twice the price. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Good quality, not made in the USA
Color: Black
I will not deny that this bagโ€™s great quality and strength to carry some heavy weight. However, one of the big reasons I chose this bag over others is that it claimed to be made in the USA, so I was disappointed to find this tag on the bag.
