If this would let me give another half a star I would, but it leans more toward 3. The tools there there and well organized. Upon opening 22 tools were out of place. The tool container is formed plastic and easy to open and close. it does not hold the tools very tightly but does hold them. The hammer is not worth the plastic that makes the handle. It is loose on the handle and would not recommend using this one. It may be a one off hammer in many, but this one is loose. the sockets and wrenches are made of very inexpensive mild steel and are loose fitting on their respective size nuts and bolts. they do work, but are just slightly too loose. the allen wrenches are there and do work. The bits for the screwdriver do work, but are cheap steel that wears very easily. This would be a good kit for a non-DIY'er that only occasionally fixes minor things around the house.

I moved into my first apartment and had nothing but a cheap screwdriver from the dollar store. When furniture showed up and pictures needed hanging, I knew I had to get a full set fast. This 248-piece kit in orange looked like it had every basic tool I'd ever need. Everything arrived in a hard plastic case that snaps shut and has a spot molded for each tool, so nothing rattles around. I put together two bookcases, fixed a running toilet, hung curtain rods, and tightened loose cabinet knobs in the first weekend. The screwdrivers and hex keys feel solid in my hand and the grips do not hurt even after using them a while. The ratchet wrench and sockets worked fine on my bike and the furniture bolts. The only piece I didn't like was the tape measure. It's only 16 feet and feels flimsy compared to the rest. For someone who is just starting out or needs most common tools in one box, this set does the job well at a fair price. I would definitely get it again or give it as a gift to a new homeowner.

This is a nice starter tool set for someone starting out on their own or the person who wants to do a light amount off DIY around the house. The kit is pretty complete and has a bit of everything. The tools are adequate for light duty work. The hammer is slightly smaller than typical hammers, but plenty big for hanging pictures or around the house type stuff. For the price, I don't think you will be able to find a more complete kit. The case is good enough to last for a long while in a closet or mud room. A nice apartment warming gift for a college student or young adult.
