This aerator is absolutely amazing. The design is great. The rolling head is a perfect weight for my lawn and my son who was so excited about aerating the lawn. This aerator is a perfect size for the lawn and garden. The spines are a perfect size and length. The reach into the soil is perfect for the lawn and for the garden. It is so easy to assemble the aeration tool and once assembled, the usefulness of the equipment will become apparent. My original pass across the yard was a little bit shallow. I did have to water the lawn for about 15 minutes before using the aerator. This allowed the tines to sink into the soil and root system easily. This equipment is very well built and has a durable feel right out of the box. I know that I will be using this for many more years, which makes it a great value compared to renting a n aerator or hiring a landscaper to come out and do the work for me.

Over the years I have tried various aerators to help my lawn stay healthy and looking its best. I have tried the ones you strap to your shoes and the kind on a pole that you step on and both ended up in the "I don't use" category. I saw this Asunrise 21" Rolling Lawn Aerator and thought I would try once again. I chose this one as I could conceivably cover more ground faster and with less physical effort. I was surprised at how heavy the box was when I received it. I could not build it in three minutes but including the unpacking, instruction review and assembly it took me less than 10. They include all the tools you need to assemble it as well as some spare parts. I was also surprised by the actual length of the assemble product with the 71" handle. Once built though it is easy to take off a section of the handle to make it easier to store. It felt heavy enough to use without adding additional weight, which is an option, so that is how I tested it.. I tried it on my lawn after a rain as the spikes would dig in better in softer ground. It worked well. It will still take some work to do a large yard but I just consider that exercise. It is well made and solid. I added a picture after rolling the tool over some bare dirt so you can see the results and that was just a roll over without me applying downward pressure. I would mow the lawn shorter and definitely water or wait for rain before next using it. I will also add some additional weight to see if that improves the performance. Overall is it a well made and functional product. I am happy with it and think my lawn is as well. The only challenge now is where will I store in when not in use. Those spikes are large and sharp.

It’s expensive to have your lawn aerated. Even renting the equipment can be quite pricey. I thought I would try doing it myself with an aerating tool. When I saw this one come up on Amazon, I decided to give it a try. I regret my decision. It does not work well. Yes, it will make some small holes in your yard. However, it’s not the sort of holes that you need in order to substantially aerate your lawn. The tool is simply not heavy enough to pierce deeply into the ground. If it did, it probably wouldn’t roll very well either. In that regard, it’s clumsy and difficult to use. Moreover it’s very sharp and dangerous to store. In order for this thing to work well, I think it would have to have hollow splines on it and have considerable more weight. That said, if you have a small yard, and you’re willing to put in a lot of hard work, You could probably do something with it. It was easy to assemble. It was made of quality parts. It has what appears to be a pretty durable finish on it. However, it just didn’t do the job that I needed it to do. In that regard, regardless of how good of value it is, it’s just not worth the money in my opinion.
