When compared to other repellents that I have tested, this one stands out due to its three-mode switching function. In Mode 1, it generates a moderate ultrasonic pulse that seems to be ideally tuned to dissuade smaller insects such as ants and roaches. Within only two days, I observed a noticeable drop in the amount of ant traffic along the baseboards. After switching to Mode 2, the frequency rises slightly higher, focusing on bigger bugs and rodents as its primary targets. Despite the fact that our typically timid cat remained absolutely unaffected by any sound or vibration, I have not seen any mice or spiders lurking about our doorway. Last but not least, Mode 3 combines both frequencies, offering full coverage that eliminates every typical home insect that is stated in the instructions. I have left Mode 3 running overnight in the storage area of our basement, and it has been quite helpful in preventing any noises of skittering or apparent pests from appearing in the corners of the space where boxes and junk have a tendency to congregate. Even when I relocated the repeller to an outlet in the hallway during a weekend gathering, visitors commented that there were no unexpected noises or disruptions. This is a testimonial to the fact that it operates in a quiet manner. This repeller does not produce any audible hum, in contrast to plug-in air fresheners or nightlights. I use them for our backyard storage shed. We keep extra household items and seasonal gear there, so bugs and small critters always find their way in. I liked that these units are small and easy to plug into any standard outlet, especially helpful since our shed has limited wall space due to shelving and stored boxes. I placed most of them near the door and low to the ground, where I assume pests are more likely to come in. They have been running for a couple of weeks now. They operate silently. No high pitched sound or buzzing. The three-mode switch is easy to use. In terms of performance, I wasn’t expecting it to completely eliminate pests, but I hoped for a bit more of some difference.
