The flashing was nicely painted on the blade's edge. Easy removal from box since the bottom of the box was almost completely severed by the ring that had no packing around it. Once the log is seated in place it is very easy to split with a wedge. Very nice holder.

A small tap from the sledgehammer and it stuck onto the splitting blade and then a love tap and presto you have kindling. No big deal to use. Cracked enough kindling in 15 minutes that would last me a month.
