So far, so good! It installed it from scratch, found all the necessary fittings at the local Ace Hardware, and it went in eeasily... and it heats quickly and reliably. I've been using it for over 2 months now in a camper setup for washing hands, toothbrush, dishes, hair, etc. I keep mine at about 160F, which seems to be a good balance between efficiency and capacity when mixed down at the tap valve for comfortable use. Thank God its only set up temporarily at moment until I redo the cabinets and counter, because I was short-sighted on two things: 1: It's highly recommended that you use unions for both the inlet and outlet. Not so important for the safety valve drain though, because dry-fitted pvc joints can be sufficient in most cases for the drain if there's not enough room for a third space-eating union. 2: I tee'ed my cold water off the pipe directly above the cold water inlet. DOH! It works fine... but there's a lot of accelerated heat loss every time I run just cold water because it flows directly above, flushing out all the leached heat unnecessarily... and no amount of insulation will remedy that. On my final build, I'll have that tee down beside the unit instead, and both the inlet and outlet (replete with unions) will then be routed from the ports to turn and go down to near the floor beside the unit, and then be fully insulated in order to reduce stored energy loss via heat rise, especially when running only cold water. I'm very happy with it. I'll try to remember to update in a year.

This water heater delivers hot water immediately, which is a huge upgrade. i was waiting for minutes to get hot water from the household hot water heater. the entire family complained abot happy running the hot tap and wasting water, especially in times of drought--so got this unit. i did choose this one based on positive reviews and the size needed to fit under the kitchen sink. The temperature setting is easily adjusted. It is now a pleasure to wash a few dishes, or wash hands in warm to hot water as desired.

Great unit, heats water incredibly quickly and is very compact/easy to install. However, as other reviewers have mentioned, the pressure relief valve leaks like crazy when installed straight out of the box. My solution was to add INSANE amounts of teflon tape to it until it was difficult to screw it back in. That seems to have solved the issue for now. If you think you've added enough pipe tape, you probably havent. Add more!!

The size is perfect under the sink. I had to buy theaded couple's to attach the heaters water lines to the faucets water lines. The pressure relief valve bottomed out when threaded in and leaked even with Teflon tape. Had to add a Teflon gasket to finally get it to stop leaking. Also had to modify plumbing for the pressure relief line but finally got everything to work.

took a long time to receive this unit, and then after install the high pressure relief valve leaked from the stem and could not get to stop leaking . flipped the lever 20 times still leaked, removed and replaced with another relief valve to correct the problem. It was either that or totally remove to ship back and replumb my customers sink and make them wait for who knows how long to wait on another unit. It was an additional cost of 70.00 for the replacement valves and adapter fittings but my customer was taken care of. I would not ever consider purchasing this unit again.

2.5 Gal version has design flaw with pressure Rrelief valve. The valve leaks where it threads into the tank. Seems the threads on the valve are not long enough nor fat enough. 25 wraps of pipe tape still leaks. Im not the only one that has had this issue. Im now trying with a half inch gasket inserted into the tank hole but I think it will still leak. Uhg debating returning.
