I ordered this for my daughter for Christmas, without doing much research first. She wanted it for recording videos, and I’m really impressed with how simple it is. It connected quickly and didn’t require a complicated setup, which I appreciated. Just plug it in, clip it on, and it’s ready to go. It was easy enough for my 16 and 11 year olds to figure out. The sound quality is clear and much better than using the phone’s built-in mic. It cuts down on background noise and makes voices sound more crisp and professional. I bought the Latest Model of the Mini Mic Pro to upgrade the audio for my social media clips and mobile videos. Overall, it lives up to the hype regarding sound quality and convenience, though it has one annoying flaw that keeps it from being a perfect 5-star product. Bueno: The "Clear Voice" claim is entirely accurate. The vocal clarity is fantastic—it eliminates that muffled, echoey smartphone room-glare completely, and the background noise reduction works wonderfully without making your voice sound robotic. The wireless range is excellent, and the plug-and-play setup is seamless; it instantly syncs with both my iPhone and my Android tablet without needing external apps. The battery life easily pushes through long recording sessions, and the physical clip feels secure on light fabrics or thicker jacket lapels. No Bueno: The only real frustration is the on-board volume/gain adjustment. The buttons on the side of the transmitter feel a bit clunky, and there is no clear indicator of what level you are currently on. It is incredibly easy to accidentally overshoot and clip your audio, or accidentally drop it too low, requiring you to do multiple test recordings just to ensure your levels are balanced. I wish there was a more precise incremental stepping system or a clearer visual cue on the unit. If you set your phone's internal recording gain correctly and don't plan on constantly adjusting the microphone's volume on the fly mid-shoot, this is an exceptional microphone. The build quality, range, and crisp audio performance easily rival much more expensive wireless setups. It is a solid 4-star tool that has significantly elevated my mobile production value.

I have tried 3 styles of lavalier mics for iPhone/Android/PC/Mac. These have the rectangular, "thumb drive" style mic. These were cheapest I found, that included dead cat windscreens. There is a pretty loud pop/buzz when I turned mute on or off. That is somewhat annoying, but another one I used did the same thing. I recommend NOT having the speaker use the on-mic button and just mute on the device or edit the audio after the fact. The sound quality of these lavs is actually very good for mics this inexpensive. The mics and receiver worked perfectly. My iPhone, using the USB-C to Lightning adaptor (included), paired and I was ready to record. I had basically the same experience using Lightning adaptor on iPad, iPhone, as well as USB-C (no adaptor) on Mac and Windows. I was immediately able to record using Twisted Wave (INCREDIBLE iOS recorder/editor, BTW!), GarageBand, and Audacity. I don't have an Android, so I couldn't test that. Dead cat ("fluffy") windscreens are definitely superior to black foam. There are use cases where the dead cat is not best so it is nice to have both. Noise cancellation wasn't exceptional. My mini-fridge fan was LOUD when the mic was too close but fine farther away. I don't think exceptional noise cancellation should be expected in this price range. Dead cats: The fuzzy/hairy/fluffy, gray covers They look good and do their job (less wind noise, even from breath). The ONLY complaint I have with the dead cats is getting them BACK ON. Another reviewer recommend a pair of "dull scissors" to spread open the elastic. I used needle nose pliers instead and that worked very well. TO PUT THE DEAD CATS BACK ON: -stick the tip of the needle nose into the elastic opening at the bottom. -carefully and gently open the needle nose to make a space for the lab mic -insert mic head into the opening in the elastic -once it is in slightly, you will have to work it all the way down until it fits in the groove for the elastic about 1/4" down the mic head There you go, easy way to put the dead cats back on. Now you don't have to fear swapping the foam/dead cats for a given scenario! SUMMARY: Very decent mics. Good voice quality. Virtually no setup, plug and play. Mute button is noisy. Noise cancellation isn't amazing. Overall very good for the price. These have the "thumb drive" rectangular shape, rather than the tube shape, if that matters to you. They work as expected. ADVICE: I used a different style that was just a few dollars more. The price was originally the same, but these dropped a few dollars after I bought the others. (10 vs. 15?) The others had 2 extra foam tips (total of 4) and 2 extra mic clips. They were the tubular style lav body rather than this rectangle style. If they are the same price as these, I would recommend them because the extra foam and clips could prove useful and the sound/quality was very similar. If these are cheaper, then you can decide what is best for your needs.

I picked up the Mini Mic Pro to use for recording short videos and interviews with my phone, and overall it has been a surprisingly handy little microphone. It’s extremely small and lightweight, and the plug-and-play setup makes it easy to start recording without messing with complicated settings. Once clipped onto a shirt, the audio is noticeably clearer than the built-in microphone on a phone, which is great for things like videos, YouTube clips, or casual interviews. The wireless connection works over a decent distance and keeps the recording sounding stable without much delay. For such a compact and affordable mic, it does a solid job improving the overall sound of phone recordings. Things I Like: The biggest thing I like is how simple it is to use. You basically plug the receiver into your phone and clip the mic on, and you’re ready to go. The size is another plus … it’s tiny enough that it doesn’t feel bulky on your shirt or in your pocket. The sound quality is clearly better than a phone’s built-in mic, especially when speaking directly to camera. I also like that it works with both iPhone and Android devices, which makes it pretty versatile. The wireless feature is nice because it lets you move around while recording without worrying about cables. Things I Don’t Like: Because it’s a budget microphone, the build quality feels a little light and somewhat plastic. It works fine, but it doesn’t feel like heavy-duty equipment. In louder environments, the audio can pick up background noise, so it’s best used in quieter settings. Also, depending on the phone model, the connection options can be a little confusing if you’re switching between devices. Reccomendation: If you’re a casual content creator, someone recording social media videos, or just want better sound for phone recordings without spending a lot of money, this is a pretty good buy. It’s simple, portable, and does exactly what most people need. However, if you’re looking for studio-level audio or something built for professional production, you may want to spend more on a higher-end microphone. For everyday video recording and basic interviews, though, this little mic gets the job done.

I HAVE UPDATED THIS REVIEW BELOW... First things first...I use this mic with an Android phone. I do A TON of social content and needed a lav mic to use while shooting video updates of the dogs I train. With a background in radio I will tell you that I am PICKY with mics. I am impressed with this set. Love the different wind screens! Also, I noticed that while this mic is programmed to reduce overmodulation, it will still happen if you get pretty loud. If you're not going to invest in limiter/mic processing equipment, you're still pretty safe using these as long as you're not doing too much screaming. I find the mic does a solid job with fidelity and picks up just the right frequencies to give your voice a much more natural, professional sound...unlike the other mics that make you sound like you're on the phone. They go from near zero power to fully charged (using a 25w super fast charger) in about 45 minutes. That being said, I've lost mic power in the middle of recording twice. While the led will blink when low on battery, it's not something you notice while you're actively recording. I wish there was a better battery monitoring system. Other than the battery status issue, this is a rock solid mic you'd be crazy to pass up. UPDATED REVIEW... After using this every day for nearly two months I had my first major issue. I dropped my phone while getting out of the car, which isn't usually a problem. However, I was using my mic and had the receiver plugged into the USB-C port. It landed just right and snapped it off my phone. I checked the damage and the receiver had broken away from the male USB-C which remained stuck in my phone. It didn't take long to remove, and after I was able to rather easily pull the receiver apart, it was obviously broken beyond repair. I understand that we can't expect every product to be able to withstand a 5 foot drop onto pavement, but I was honestly shocked it broke! This piece is held onto the receiver very poorly. I was worried that this would happen again if I got another one but I considered how great it sounds and ordered another one anyway. I got the new mic in a day and it works just as well as the broken one it replaces. It is at this point I began having an issue because I really do like this system, but I question its durability...and you should too. It is for this reason I am deducting a star. If anything else happens...good or bad, I will update this review and possibly the rating as well.
