I had purchased another drain plug before and it didn't fit because the seller was not clear about the size requirements. Kudos to this seller for being very clear about not just the diameter but also the depth clearance, which was the problem on the first one. Everything checked out and when I received it it just dropped right in just like the seller's specs said it would. The design of this stopper is such that they took the approach of making the drain part very large diameter to compensate for the loss of surface area from the solid stopper button in the middle. I turned the tub spigot on full blast and let it run a bit to see if it could overwhelm the stopper's ability to drain. Very slowly the water volume began to gain on the drain's ability to bleed off the water which I would absolutely expect as even the original drain that was installed on this tub did also. The gain was very slow so I consider that test a success. No shower is going to be putting out that kind of water flow so I had no expectations that I would be left standing in a puddle of undraining water in the middle of my shower. I wasn't sure how well the hair catcher claims were going to pan out but I have to say that I am delighted with the results. As the shower proceeds, the water rises on the drain plug just enough to cause it to start to glug. In turn the slightly risen water begins to slowly spin around the outside of the drain while it's waiting its turn to go down the drain. What I observed happening was that the hair was being strung out by this process so that it was meeting the drain long-ways, thus preventing the hair from being able to clog the drain and just building itself up in a little pool at the front of the tub. After the shower, a little swipe with some TP to gather the hair up and your done. We hardly ever have any reason to plug the tub but I tested the push stopper for water-tightness and it worked like a champ. Recommended.

I love this drain hair catcher/tub stopper. It's exactly what I needed! I recently bought an old Victorian house with an old claw foot bathtub that only had an open hole for the drain. I not only needed a hair catcher but also something to stop up the drain to hold the water in the tub. This product fit that bill perfectly and works like a charm! Installation couldn't be easier, as simple as just putting it in the drain hole. The manufacturer should be commended for supplying all the measurements needed to insure a perfect fit, and for emphasizing and encouraging the need to measure one's drain before purchasing, especially the depth, which cannot be adjusted if it's not deep enough to accommodate the stopper. Minor adjustments to the width can be easily made with the additional seal rings that are provided, but I found the one with which it came installed fits my drain perfectly. Its seal completely stops the drain and holds the water well. After releasing the water, the hair catching cover easily comes off separately to clean off the hair, then can easily be replaced back onto the rest of the unit. No need to remove the entire assembly. I love that I only have to push it with my toes to open and close the drain. The video shows finger operation, but I love that I don't have to bend over to release the water. It's solidly well made and I'm so thankful I found it. For me it's a game changer and I'm so happy with this product! My only recommendation would be to offer a brass/gold colored option, as all the fixtures in my bathroom are brass, as are many other homes. Otherwise, I highly recommend it, especially for those having a similar drain issue.

My bathtub used to be a hair-collecting nightmare. I ordered this Bathtub Stopper with Drain Hair Catcher to solve this problem. Below is my review: Pros: - To start, my bathtub has a standard drain. The stopper sits on of drain and stopper's bottom inserts into the drain. Though it sits loosely on the drain, the rubber ring effectively creates a seal, preventing water from leaking when the stopper is closed. - The dual filtration design catches EVERYTHING, from long strands to sneaky short ones. No more clogged drains. - Easy to press and release, this stopper lets you switch between filling and draining with a single tap. - The chrome finish adds a modern touch and complements my bathroom's aesthetics. - Simply remove the stopper, rinse it off, and you're good to go. No scrubbing or digging required! Cons: None at the moment, but the loose placement on top of the drain might be a long-term concern. Overall: This upgraded stopper effectively catches hair, looks great, and offers convenient one-touch operation. I'm very happy with it so far.
