  • Best price to quality ratio I could find
Spent quite a bit of time searching for the highest quality, most reliable monitor for many hours of text-heavy work and high-end gaming below $300. Tried a couple others (Acer EI272UR was sent back, Dell S2721HGF was kept by girlfriend) and this was the clear winner for me. I really wanted a curved panel as I do think it helps a bit with eye strain on the periphery, but it seems like IPS on a 27" curved doesn't exist exist. The Acer's VA panel just felt harsher and cheaper, and while the Dell felt like higher quality the lower 1080p resolution was too noticeable on text. I was worried this HP would look too cheesy and "gamer"-y but now I like the accents on the bottom. Comes with a really good stand, I switched out for a VESA wall mount but will probably hang onto it for the future. This is less known than a lot of more hyped monitors that got reviewed in rtings, Tom's hardware etc, and for some reason some people think HP = lower quality, but that's not been my experience at all. Got scared away from cheaper Gigabyte and Monoprice options by all the reports of dead pixels and multiple returns to get a good panel, seems the HP quality control is better from the reviews I found and personal experience. At $290 I'm quite happy with it, seems to work fine with G-Sync as well though I've only tried it with FFXV on my AW GTX 1070 laptop. I like a monitor that can go to very soft/low brightness settings to reduce eye fatigue, I feel like it does that very well and also looks awesome for high res/high fps gaming as well. Some noticeable backlight bleed in very dark scenes, but that's a tradeoff I can live with ... show more

  • Excellent!
Current setup = 10600K, 32GB of 3600MHZ Ram and a 3070 OCD via MSI Afterburner (105 on core/800 on memory) First off, the monitor is absolutely gorgeous. It's stable, built well and feels durable - it's also got some weight to it but nothing extreme! I'll list some pros and cons for ya' ~Pros~ 1. Sturdy 2. bright, gorgeous colors 3. NO DEAD PIXELS/STUCK PIXELS!!! (HUGE!) 4. Up and down or can swing 175 degrees 5. can turn ugly green color OFF 6. thin bezels 7. response time adjustment, 5 being the "fastest" - I have mine set to 4 and have no issues whatsoever. ~Cons~ 1. Menu is funky to mess with 2. Had to adjust color out of box, or else it's ugly (gaming one was amazing and I just upped Contrast to 80 and brightness to 100, looks excellent) All in all this is an e x c e l l e n t monitor. If you're looking for an entry level 144HZ 1440P G-Sync/FreeSync compatible gaming monitor please go with this one, please please please. STAY AWAY FROM GIGABYTE! ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY - I had originally went with the GB G27Q, 2 monitors in a row had stuck and dead pixels - this one is flawless right away! ... show more

  • Great monitor!
I ordered this monitor after having to return my Asus monitor that arrived with dead pixels. This is one of the best monitors I've used and I highly recommend it for gaming or casual use. I can guarantee that I will purchase another in the future. + Ambient Lighting can be turned off in the Power Control menu + Easy to use options + Display looks incredible out the box + Simple setup + HDMI Cable Included + Display Port Capable - Display Port Cable not included ... show more

  • High End Performance at Bargain Price
There really isn't anything close to this kind of performance in this price range. 27" is the sweet spot size wise for 1440p. Since I do game frequently high refresh rate is a must so 144hz on an IPS monitor that has such excellent colors was ideal. You do have to go into your windows display settings to change the refresh rate manually first, worked great hooked up to my display port connection after that. Freesync makes gaming even better with no screen tearing. I know many were concerned about the green light looking tacky but you can turn it off in the settings which I preferred, barely even notice anything there. It is VESA mountable and was easy to do, this monitor is much lighter compared to my other AOPEN 27" 1440p monitor. Also I tested it and haf zero light bleed which was impressive. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and recommended it to my friends, some who bought more expensive and liked mine better. ... show more

  • Great looking monitor, no USB ports
DOES NOT COME WITH USB PORTS, I knew this as the picture did not show, but was hopeful, starting with this so no one is mislead. Otherwise this is a great monitor, clear picture, love the green ambient light (can be turned off), messed around with a couple settings to get it how I want - menus is easy to navigate for what it is. I do wish there was cable management built in, but totally recommend ... show more

  • Great value, sharp images, G-Sync and FreeSync compatible
Pros: Great value for a 27-inch (got mine for ~300 each when on sale), 1440p + 144Hz option from a reputable company. G-Sync compatible, easy to set up and configure, screen feels bigger than 27 inches and can easily serve as a bedroom TV as well if desired. Response times are fantastic and brightness + contrast are excellent. Cons: Not a ton, but green LED strips might be undesirable for people who have a full RGB color scheme they want to adhere to. Stands are functional and easy to install but have a very industrial look/feel for what are ostensibly "gaming/creative" monitors. ... show more

  • IT DOES WORK AT 1440P 120 Hz. Don't listen to the fellow below
This monitor has done justice for me. I went from 1080p 60hz to 1440p 144z monitor & the difference was pretty substantial. I mainly use this for my pc but also for my Xbox one X. This monitor has 3 modes, 60z, 120hz, & 144hz. Also has a sharpness setting which I found that came in very handy. Idk why the person below would claim that this monitor can't perform at 1440p 120hz when there is literally options at the press of a button located at the bottom of the monitor. Sounds more like an Xbox problem rather than HP. Maybe they should double check that they've enabled variable refresh, 120hz, as well as RGB PC in Xbox display settings. You may have to manually enable 120hz through your own monitors settings underneath the monitor otherwise that's Microsoft fault or it may be a factory defect. ... show more

  • Fantastic for the price
The panel looks great, its easy to set up (make sure you set the panel to higher refresh rates in Windows Display settings), menu is easy enough to navigate. Highly recommended.
