Word of caution do not open MICROSOFT EDGE!!! A virus is lurking in it. This happened with the last computer I bought and fell for the virus scam. They tried to charge $250 - $750 to repair the computer. After the initial shock of all the alarms going off and not being able to shut them off, I called and asked to return it. Later, I called a relative who is very good with computers and he was able to get the alarms to stop and get it working in no time.He tracked the web site to a scam page somehow and poof my new computer was working like it should. Amazon was very understanding about the situation and sent a return label immediately, but since it has been fixed, I am going to keep it. BEWARE Otherwise it is a good computer. ... show more

    • Speakers are awful, the computer is fast and easy to use
the keyboard is not backlit but it was not described that way.. I can see where it matters on a black on black keyboard.. it feels cheap to type on it..hope it lasts.. boots up really fast.. takes hours to get your settings fixed to thwart the Microsoft and Edge takeover of your computer and the way they want you to use it.. but eventually got that adjusted. The screen is bright and resolution is great. Battery life...so-so. HP virtual support is not great, somewhat helpful. Haven't had to call them yet.. chose HP over Dell 'cause HP support is in USA and Dell is overseas. The main issue I have so far is the speakers are awful.. tinny sounding...all you can control is the volume..forget minor adjusting possibilities like bass, treble etc. As someone who listens to a lot of music on the laptop when using and goes down the Youtube rabbit hole, it is a huge disappointment. Will probably have to use external speakers at some point. Bot as replacement for my 2013 Toshiba Satellite w Harmon Kardon speakers etc... If you are buying this for work or school, it is great.. for home "use for everything".. lacking imo. J ... show more

Easy to set up and very responsive. My needs for a computer are pretty basic. Email, online shopping, and I am an admin for a Facebook page with over 40,000 members. We need a large screen and a keybd with number pad for accounting purposes. The HP fits our requirements, is fast and was easy to get up and running with just a couple of Window updates. We love it.

Item arrived quickly. I was impressed with the quality of the packing. The box had been obviously damaged, but the foam packing around the inside box that housed the computer was intact and the inside box had no damage. Computer is excellent. Nice to find a laptop with a CD drive.

Still testing it out since it just came today but so far so good. Was a little disappointed after finding out it didn't have a backlit keyboard. My fault for not questioning that sooner. Saw the question was asked and answered yes by a couple of people but I'll be darned if I can find it. The screen is large and bright. Moves fast. I'll be testing a game soon so I'll update if anything major comes up. No problems with mouse, printer or tranferring files. Mousepad was not in box. ... show more
