    • Simply unbelievable!
After weeks of researching backup cameras and monitors I came across these head units. For a little more than I was going to spend anyway, this direct fit unit offered far more functionality without the clutter of another monitor to contend with on my dash. Since there are similar head units to choose from and with mixed reviews, choosing this was tough but I couldn't be more please. Here's what I believe are the important points. - this will work regardless if your truck has a Bose system or not. -Many people complain the rear view camera they connected or have doesn't work. I had this problem but realized why. Do yourself a favor and go to the website where you can find a much better photo of the connectors. The included harness has yellow rca connectors labeled video in/out and to get the cam working, these need to be plugged into each other before the "cam in" will be displayed. The system is definitely plug and play. My original unit had 3 plugs and the antenna. Unplugged mine and plugged the original connectors into the included harness. It's not possible to connect them wrong. They're all different sizes. With the unit installed, I immediately was surprised at the sound quality improvement which I wasn't expecting. Louder, cleaner and more bass. The on screen equalizer is amazing. Screen is completely viewable in bright daylight and has excellent resolution. Touch screen is responsive and when connected to my phone's Hotspot, I have everything I would expect to in a beautiful tablet at my fingertips. APP's, Netflix, any Navigation app, etc. Yes you can watch videos while moving too. Phone calls thru system are better than original system. If I had to complain about anything it would be that I wish you could share my phones internet by connecting thru USB instead of the wifi Hotspot so the bandwidth limitation could be sidestepped but that's not this products fault. Tethering is intended for computers. I was going to sell the truck. Now I'm keeping it. This product is the reason why I love driving my truck again! ... show more

    • EONON GA9180A..AN EXCELLENT RADIO AND EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! This is the ANDROID Radio TO BUY!
This is an AWESOME Car Radio. It Truly is PLUG & PLAY. I do not have a lot of experience installing radios but everything you needed, including the dash removal tool was included. Even instructions on my particular dash. Once in my steering wheel controls worked. I could go up channels I could adjust volume and tracks on my music. Even with Spotify. It connected to my phone hot spot and I had full internet functionality. The backlit LED colors for the controls perfectly matched my Chevy Traverse (2012). NO ENGINE NOISE was detected. Many people mention this in You Tube Videos and in reviews. NOT THE CASE here. Mine is quiet and a note you do not need to have the BOSE system to hook this radio up. My Traverse was an LT without the BOSE and it plugged right in. It downloaded my contacts to the radio and Paired up with both my Android Note 8 and my Wife's IPhone X. I registered with Sirius and should be able to just install the app on the radio. Plan to do that next so will have full Sirius access. It knows when your doors are open and shows on the screen. NOTE this is the BRAND NEW GA9180A Model I am reviewing not the older models. This Model has 4GB or RAM and is FAST to boot up and comes right back on when you put in the KEY. Since this radio is pretty new there are not a lot of reviews on this particular model but just know it sounds like they got it right! This is not a paid endorsement I am just a person who actually bought something that I hoped would live up to the hype and it DOES! Can't wait to customize this to my own specifications.     • Great while it worked
This is a great stock radio replacement. Until it is not. Lasted for about a year and 4 months. Then developed a “damaged motherboard”. So far no luck getting it repaired by the company. Emailed them about it and they stopped responding about two months ago. If they offer getting this resolved I’d be happy to change my rating. But right now it’s sitting on a shelf. Does not turn on, blows the fuse immediately after plugging in the power cable. While it did work, here is my take. The good: - the iOS lookalike CarPlay is awesome. My iPhone cannot tell the difference. Seems to function just as if it was the real thing. Not sure how they hacked it together but they seem to be the only one who managed - screen image quality is fine. No complaints really. A bit of a glare during very bright conditions - touchscreen works fairly well. See the bad section about alignment - has a camera input and many others, making it versatile. No issues getting things installed or changing configuration on when the backup camera turns on, muting the volume while backing up, etc. - radio works with stock antennae - comes with GPS antenna and it actually works. No need to reset the clock when it drifts off. Takes a few minutes to adjust but it’ll eventually correct it - the “gifts” are actually useful. The Scan dongle works great and I can now read codes right from the radio! :) - no additional parts needed to get it installed Some reviews have mentioned that the instructions were confusing or things did not fit. I’d say that it may look daunting at first. But following the instructions and just taking one wire at a time, I had no issues whatsoever. The hardest part was to remove the bezel in the car covering the screws, without breaking the bezel. no issues installing the device. The bad: none of these things were a showstopper for me. I either worked around it or the issue did not stop me from using the device effectively. But you may not be OK with these, so consider them. - has a bit of a hummm when driving. Probably some wire or input is not properly shielded and the alternator whining comes through. Not too bad and when music is blasting, I could not hear it - sometimes the touchscreen would go out of alignment, resetting is possible through software. A bit of a pain but possible. - apparently no way to customize the home pages. It looks like you’re supposed to but can’t. It may be that the is they’re using is somehow bootlegged. But it just appears like some functionality is locked out. No option to rearrange the buttons. - the stock clicker, that apparently is somehow connected to the stock radio stops working. So taking the stock radio out, causes the turn signal clicking to no longer work. With stock radio, the clicking comes from the drivers speaker in the door. Very convenient actually. So to compensate, they have included their own clicker speaker. Why they cannot send the clicker to the drivers speaker like stock? No idea. Anyway, it would be all fine except as other reviewers have noted, that speaker makes a horrible sound. Way too loud and just obnoxious. Fixed it by taping over the speaker. So I can still hear it, just not as obnoxious. - if you tried to use the device like an Android device, it is just too slow for that. Cannot use the Google maps, takes forever to download the images.m, etc. but I bought it because of the CaePlay integration and that works great. So I did not really care. - takes a minute to boot up and while it does, shows the android logo. Would have been nice to include a way to replace that. With the installed firmware though, not possible for some reason. ... show more
