I initially bought two of these laptops one for myself and one for a friend who was in dire need of an upgrade and wanted a 17 inch larger screen to do AutoCAD work and other things. I wanted to see how it would work running name brand stock trading software on it. Basically it passed with flying colors. It has all the modern ports you need from HDMI, thunderbolt, and the USB C format. Additionally there is the regular USB port we're all familiar with. On the Wi-Fi side it has Wi-Fi Six which is the AX version of Wi-Fi. The screen itself is beautiful and covers edge to edge on the case of the laptop. Obviously a 17 inch laptop is not ideal compact size for the road warrior or the person who needs a laptop with them to conduct business. A laptop this size is ideal as a smaller work from home "mini" desktop I'll call it. I would recommend this laptop for business use, stock trading, and for home study and schooling purposes. The screen is large enough to make it easy to read review and broadcast things on the Internet. It comes with Windows installed and is eligible to upgrade to the new Windows 11. I am not planning to upgrade to Windows 11 at this time. However, note during the initial set up of the laptop they will ask you to join a Wi-Fi network. My advice is to not join a Wi-Fi network initially and choose the I don't have Internet option. That way you are able to set up the laptop in a minimal fashion without getting roped into having you create a Microsoft account and ID and password and all that other stuff. If you have those accounts and want to set that up feel free but for those of you who just want to set up a basic laptop without giving Microsoft.com free range access to rummage through all of your files I would suggest setting it up without the Internet. When you restart the computer after final set up then you can enter your Wi-Fi network information and it may ask you to install some bloatware or to open an account but you won't have to. If you start setting up the laptop and choose the Internet option right out of the box you will have to set up an account to go and complete the set up which is unsatisfactory. Just my 2c..! Bottom line: A very nice larger laptop with excellent capabilities and 64 GB of RAM with the Intel i7 processor make it capable to do some high-power work on a decent priced laptop. It's certainly much cheaper obviously than an Apple laptop but the new M1 processors have had some compatibility problems with some of the Windows type of programs that may be required for business, stock trading and some other financial programs. If you're a App designer or graphics designer the Apple platform may be best for you. If you're using things like Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets and name that brand financial stock market software this is your machine this is the best bet. Updated-- 03/13/2022: Now have bought THREE of these laptops. All are working without any problems. My usage is primarily as "desktop" units for a major PC based stock trading platform. These machines have been running 5 days a week 10 hours a day without any issues. Would give them SIX Stars if possible. ... show more
