I like this laptop and it works great. After installing the "Windows" updates installing the apps that I like to use I gave it a good test drive and it performed like a good quality laptop should. As for the price I am happy with this laptop.

    • Wrong color, Charger didn't work, laptop didn't work.
So I'm not usually one to speak negatively.. or positively. Or really at all about a product I buy. But this is going to be an exception due to the issue noted in the headline. Positive is that it arrived when stated. Negative is that before even trying to start up the laptop there was an issue. I order the black model as seen on the pictures and started in the descriptions but was delivered a silver laptop. Once I attempted to turn on the computer I realized that about a minute into the boot it would crash every time. I tried to check the bios and it would crash. I'd move the laptop slightly when on my lap and it would crash. I would do literally nothing after pushing the power button and it would crash. I thought hey let me at least try to put the charger in. Maybe after a more full charge something would change. After inserting the charger I quickly realized the light on the side indicating that it is charging would flicker on and off a couple times before ultimately staying off after each insertion. I left the charger in for an extended period of time thinking maybe it's supposed to be like that when the charge is low, but the same issue arrived after allowing Time to charge. I understand that maybe I'm just a completely unlucky singular case of this and it never happened before and I hope that's the case. But these glaring quality issues indicate a larger underlying issue of lack of quality control in a shipped product. From now on I'm just going to plan on purchasing laptops from a store where I can tangibly inspect a product before paying hundreds of dollars for it. ... show more

Definitely happy, the money invested was worth it. Best price for the characteristics that it has. The bad thing is that it heats a little and weighs a little more than normal but considering the cost, it has been a great purchase.

Received yesterday. Since 6pm we have been installing Windows updates. The machine is installing YET ANOTHER major update this morning. Every time it finishes, we get the message, "you're all set", and then when we check 10-15 minutes later, yet another update is ready. After the overnight updates, the startup was VERY SLOW. We'll update the review after a week or two and say how it is working overall. ******************* Laptop Review: The Dell Inspiron 15 5000 looks like a nice laptop. Purchased with the 1080p touchscreen, those items make a nice-looking machine. Display looks GREAT. The touchscreen so far is perfectly sensitive. The touchpad is large, and a little clumsy - there is a little movement under the pad, so every time you touch the pad, it makes a "click", like something has come loose. Finding a machine with the backlit keyboard is definitely worth it. In the evening, or night time, the backlight is great. Wish the light shown through the keys a little better, but it is far better than an unlit keyboard. ... show more

It comes with a lots of software you probably don't need or want. I spend the first week installing updates and deleting things I didn't want. Some software that worked well on my old laptop & windows 10 won't work on this laptop. Haven't figured out the problem yet. If you're looking for gaming or a true business machine capable of lightning speed and/or able to display more apps than most humans can keep track of, this probably isn't for you.
