A large, portable water heater that effectively heats up to 5 gallons. Features no visible indication that it is on nor any on/off control, except for a short thick cord with a three prong plug that you plug into your wall socket after completely submerging the stainless-steel covered heating tube in the container of choice filled with water. Then let it do its thing while you wait to check the temperature a small digital thermometer that has a wire that reads the temperature that is displayed on the LED part you hold out of the water. I find this to be questionable way to heat water with no indication of how to use this product safely. Since there is no stand, bracket or clip to hold this securely inserted and fully submerged in a plastic bucket or tub while it generates high heat from the element from inside the stainless-steel tube that is basically it's entire length with a slight plastic cap at the end. If I am to believe this thing generates enough heat from the tube so that I will burn myself if I touch it then how can it not melt my plastic bucket as it lays against it in the water? I have a standard plastic mop bucket that I am sure is not rated for high heat and a foot bath basin that it would have to lay across the bottom of to be submerged completely and I would want to make sure that the heater I used to heat water in them had some sort of setting and temperature control on it as it was working instead of having to rely on a secondary thermometer with a tiny wire attached to it for measuring my waters temperature. I am baffled by instructions for the product because they show a heater with a on/off switch and they also state that there is a red light at the top that glows when it's on, My heater has neither of those things and there are no listings of electrical certifications or power output ratings in compliance with any safety standards on the device or as a label attached to it nor written in the instructions. So as far as I am concerned this is a piece of trash that doesn't have markings from any of the multitude of product safety agencies that test and regulate standards for Consumer electrical products for me to feel safe using it

I had one of these immersion heaters last year and used it to heat my hot tub quickly. It was recalled (for obvious electrical risks) so I threw it away, but decided to try this one to see what safety features may have been added. This one isn't nearly as fast or powerful as the previous one. It would work better to warm a smaller container of water.

This immersion heater is no joke. I dropped it in a five gallon bucket and in what felt like seconds the water went from chilly to spa-worthy. The digital display is clear and the safety features gave me peace of mind while I stood there like a wizard commanding the elements. Do not use this in the kitchen unless you want your house to smell like regret. But for outdoor chores, camping baths, or heating water for pet stuff, it does the job beautifully.
