Took this out of the box to check and see if it operates or has any problems. As expected, for how cheap this thing is, the display screen seems to intermittently turn off. Not sure if it's a simple loose connection inside, but it's not a good first impression. The welder welds and was able to put a poor bead on two 1/16" plates of aluminum using the TIG setup using 110V. Probably would've been much better with more wall power, but it did the job. With more practice, I'm sure it will be improved.

I'm fairly proficient at GMAW and FCAW welding, and I can make a serviceable MMA weld if the metal is thick enough, so I decided it's time to try TIG. After watching a dozen YouTube videos, I got this welder and a foot pedal and went to town. Here are my first TIG welds on mild steel. I was playing with the settings just to see how everything felt, and I did crazy things like passing the torch oven an existing weld (in case you're wondering why one is so smooth.) I learned all of the best beginner skills like dipping the tungsten, using a dirty electrode, and even making a "q-tip" or two. After a couple of hours, I now feel qualified to rate this machine five stars! The UI is pretty straight-forward, and the manual contains in-depth descriptions and graphs of the various modes along with fairly complete wiring schematics and the same brief introduction to welding that all of these Chinese welders come with (maybe it's some kind of requirement there?) The manual is certainly a lot more useful than the manuals that have come with my other welders. The machine annoyingly has a barbed hose connector on the back, so I had to make an adapter to make it work with my regulator's hose. The machine is relatively quiet, and the fan even turns itself off completely if you aren't heating it up too much inside. This doesn't seem to line up directly with when I expect it, but all of my other welders just have the fans on full blast all the time so it's a big plus. The torch cable (?) is really long, which is nice, but the handle seems bulky and not as comfortable to hold as the kinds I see in videos. I suppose those guys all use fancy expensive torches, though, and this one seems to work just fine. I'm getting pretty good at rapid electrode replacement; I've decided to bump up my 10-electrode quiver to 20, though, because I can't seem to get more than one good pass before I mess one up. Everything worked flawlessly but i think it would be good to update the description and pictures to show if it comes with the Leeds or not bc i purchased my own just in case it didn’t.

This is a great little welder with a lot of features. I haven't tried the AC TIG mode yet as I don't have aluminum rods (because I've never tried welding aluminum before). Stick welding is smooth in both straight and reverse polarity. DC TIG also works well. It's a good looking little welder that seems well made. The cover for the control panel is a nice touch. The only downsides are the overly short cables. The TIG torch lead is fine, but the ground cable is only about 4' long. The electrode holder cable is also very short at about 6' feet. They use the standard dinse 35-50 connectors so they're easily replaceable, but you shouldn't have to. The power cord is also very short, but not as easy to replace. I would also have preferred a screw-in gas line, but the included hose and clamps do work, so I'm not knocking that. I'm really looking forward to practicing my aluminum welding with it. ------------------------------ Edited 9/22/24: I connected the Arccaptain TIG foot (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D981F7TT) pedal up to it today and it works perfect with no modification. It has a little bit of a learning curve, that's just part of the fun

Let me start by saying that this machine is phenomenal quality. The case feels great and the construction is solid all around. I own a Lincoln Electric and an AlphaTig machine and while the size of this machine is so much smaller, it functions just as well. It's also incredibly quiet by comparison. It seems as though the fan only ramps up as needed for cooling. I do wish they would have used screw type connectors for the gas lines instead of the barbed type. I had to get adapters so I could use my same gas line between all of my machines. Overall though, if you're looking for a budget friendly option to get into AC Tig, this is perfect. A few minor suggestions for the company: Swap out the default power cable for a 220v cable. Screw on gas fittings WP26 style torch seeing as this is a 200A machine. Offer a version that includes the pedal bundled by default. Include a gas regulator All in all, this is a very easy to use welding machine that includes nearly everything you need to get going. I appreciate the extra consumables provided and the sample tungsten sticks to get you going. 10/10 recommend. The styling is quite nice too!
